Craig assisted me and my wife through an Adjustment of Status (AOS) immigration case in order to obtain work authorization and a permanent resident card for my wife after we were married. Overall, we were very happy with the result - my wife received her permanent resident card in just under three months from the time we submitted our AOS application to the USCIS. Although my wife and I felt comfortable that we would have been able to successfully navigate the immigration application and review process on our own, we decided to hire an immigration attorney for the following reasons: - Heard a couple of horror stories from acquaintances regarding unfavorable outcomes when filing / applying for immigration status (however, also heard from several other people who had good experiences when going it alone) . - Receiving my wife's permanent resident status was time sensitive - only had about three months until we needed to travel internationally + accept a new full-time job offer - Decided that the money spent on hiring an attorney to provide reassurance that the immigration process would result favorably for me and my wife would be well worth it for the peace of mind. I contacted several immigration attorneys in the Syracuse area and opted for Craig because of the following reasons: i) I liked how thorough he was during our initial consultation, ii) his fee seemed reasonable, and iii) Craig and I built good rapport while on the phone (i.e., I liked him). Working with Craig and his team was great. His online software support made filling out the AOS application a breeze. Further, Craig's team reviewed our application meticulously to check for errors before submitting to ensure we got everything right the first time. This alone probably saved me and my wife around 10 - 15 hours. In general, Craig was responsive when we had questions or wanted to hear status updates once our application was submitted. He and his team were always professional and courteous. I actually enjoyed visiting with Craig at his office because he's such a regular, down-to-earth guy (and also very sharp). The other thing I appreciated when working with Craig, was his honesty. Craig was upfront with us from the start that he tended to approach matters with "cautious optimism." In other words, Craig did not simply tell us what we wanted to hear, but remained realistic and objective throughout the case (especially when discussing the chances that my wife would receive her immigration status within the three-month window that was crucial to our travel / work needs). After hiring him a few years back, he not only did not promptly submit documents on time for my application, which I only found out after receiving a letter from the USCIS, but when his team did finally submit the application, my name was spelled incorrectly! Anyone who is familiar with this process knows missing a deadline results in an automatic denial of your case, and the only option you have is to appeal and submit an entire new application and pay the fees over again. Because of the negligence to deadlines, I had to deal with this, and obviously lost money, not to mention the immense stress that the process induced. I also had issues with contacting him when I had questions, it felt impossible getting an answer after submitting payment. I would not recommend this practice to anyone
