I’ve been involved with a good deal of community advocacy work in Syracuse, NY, most especially dealing with youth who are incarcerated and unable to afford private legal counsel. I just witnessed his advocacy for a family friend who is in desperate need of inpatient mental health services, but whose case required that a judge sign off on these services, to ensure both his eligibility and his admission to a program. Dave worked tirelessly to acquire the best possible resolution for his client; he gained the cooperation of the district attorney, the plaintiffs, and his young client and was persistent with his efforts, despite the judge’s reluctance to sign the necessary documents. Dave even went so far as to retain a well-established psychiatrist to evaluate his young client’s mental health status and this meant carving out numerous additional hours away from his private practice services. Clearly, it’s his devotion to the law, to the well-being of his clients, regardless of their financial status, and to the public safety of our community that drives his practice. I cannot recommend him highly enough because of his ethics, his expertise, and his professional dedication.
