David Eugene Zukher

I’ve been involved with a good deal of community advocacy work in Syracuse, NY, most especially dealing with youth who are incarcerated and unable to afford private legal counsel. Though David Zukher, attorney at law, is by far, one of the best defense attorneys in Onondaga County, his generosity of ...service beyond his private practice, as a public defender, is beyond parallel. I just witnessed his advocacy for a family friend who is in desperate need of inpatient mental health services, but whose case required that a judge sign off on these services, to ensure both his eligibility and his admission to a program. Dave worked tirelessly to acquire the best possible resolution for his client; he gained the cooperation of the district attorney, the plaintiffs, and his young client and was persistent with his efforts, despite the judge’s reluctance to sign the necessary documents. Dave even went so far as to retain a well-established psychiatrist to evaluate his young client’s mental health status and this meant carving out numerous additional hours away from his private practice services. Clearly, it’s his devotion to the law, to the well-being of his clients, regardless of their financial status, and to the public safety of our community that drives his practice. I cannot recommend him highly enough because of his ethics, his expertise, and his professional dedication.

David went above and beyond for me with the trouble I put myself in due to my poor choices with drug addiction, I have battled with alcoholism and drug addiction my whole adult life and and David saw hope in me, he worked out a plea agreement that I never expected and for that I am forever grateful. ...Thank you David, Carla and Patty.

David was my court appointed attorney and I was facing very serious charges that had very slim to none chances of being dismissed. A first class felony, other lower, and 3 misdemeanors all dropped. I was looking at years of prison time. I spent 75 days in jails and a couple months after that he beat ...the case, literally destroyed it. David is a great lawyer, why might you ask? I’ll tell you why. He was court appointed. We didn’t know we hit the jackpot with this one. Someone in my family was in some real trouble and no one saw a positive light to the situation. We were not entirely sure this would end up good for him given the ci...rcumstances. Upon the family meeting Mr. Zukher personally my fears went away and I had no doubt in my mind he could get the job done with a reduced sentence or charges. The accused was set to be facing real time. David set us up with a number to reach him day or night. Anytime of the week to get ahold of him with questions or anything related to the case. You can tell he has a big heart to give us a way to reach him to suppress our worries when we were struggling with questions about the case. Not only was compassionate but he was attentive as well. Him and his assistants worked tirelessly regarding this case when struggles arised, making it more difficult to accomplish. I won’t provide details but dealing with an encrypted versions and a serious DA not messing around. It seemed there was no hope! However the accused was let out for a time until court proceedings took place, that alone I get David was very promising. He filed the paperwork and worked his magic to get him out in time for the holidays. I never properly said thank you for the gift he gave us of them being home! Now we’re not in the clear just yet. There’s still a lot to do. Things we will never know just how hard him and his team works. Everyday was a challenge for everyone involved. The time is clicking and we are awaiting a court date to get the ball rolling to prove his innocence. I’ll never really know just how hard his team worked but he made my family a promise and he fulfilled it but even more so than anyone could imagine. He got the case entirely dismissed, scot free. Wipes his hands clean free of everything weighing heavy on his shoulders. What an amazing lawyer and assistants! So if his prior cases of success don’t sell you, let this be in bold, HE WILL GET THE JOB DONE better than you could ever have hoped for.

My fiancé was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not only did David get all charges dropped but he kept me up to date with all the proceedings. Never gave me false hope.
