Efficient and Effective!

I knew Bryn as a parent and engaged member of the community; I reached out to a group looking for someone to handle my divorce proceedings, and she contacted me in response. I am so glad that she did! Bryn was efficient, timely, and communicated everything in a manner that was easy to understand. My ...ex and I had gone through a lengthy mediation process, so much of that work was done; she tied everything up and my divorce was completed so quickly and effectively. Divorce is scary and hard and leaves you feeling vulnerable, and Bryn handles the work with no judgement. You feel both safe and like things are being handled well. I give her my full recommendation, and truly appreciate the work she did for me.

Great lawyer

I hired Bryn to help me deal with an unwarranted TOP against me. Bryn was professional and easy to talk to. She gave great advice and stuck with me through a drawn-out court process. Ultimately, the judge found no cause against me, and I don't have to deal with any more court orders!

Would Highly Recommend

I had a great experience with Bryn Lovejoy-Grinnell as my divorce attorney. She has a vast knowledge of divorce & family law, along with related items that are directly affected by a divorce such as real estate, savings, retirement, etc. She always responded to emails and calls quickly. That ...included responses to multiple emails or messages from me on the same day. She was always up front with me and told me her honest legal opinion (not just what I wanted to hear). I appreciated that much more than the used auto sales pitch that some other attorneys gave me during consultations. With that said, she will still fight for whatever you want. I ended up getting a very good deal for myself and avoided going to court. I would certainly hire her again.

Rude, impatient used wrong instrument to freeze my X Husband's Employee Welfare Benefits Plan Life Insurance

Bryn was an Attorney for Hiscock Legal Aid, my Divorce was a Domestic Violence Divorce. I warned her on several occasions my Husband had brain cancer and was dying. She already had the IRA check he had stolen from me and my two children. It took me 72 emails to finally get her to freeze my family's L...ife Insurance Policy , she finally used a Court Order to freeze it. She told me this was settled. She used the WRONG instrument and my X Husband withdrew it just like I told her he WOULD. He passed, Life Insurance was already depleted...so I call her to tell her he stole it and she told me to "have a good life"! I, me, Prose', alone sued her for Legal Malpractice. She had an Attorney for Hiscock Legal Aid, attorney dismissed at every turn...his answers were simply comical. A Qualified Domestic Relations Order was the proper instrument to freeze a Life Insurance Policy belonging to an Employee Welfare Benefits Plan. Hiscock paid Bryn's Attorney with donated money to Hiscock for over a year defending Bryn with the most comical of answers. He would not give an inch and was making a good dollar defending Bryn with Hiscock Legal Aids donations. Bryn had no way out. The Judge refused all attempts for dismissals. I pushed on. When Bryn's Attorney had nothing left to argue he called for mediation and wanted me to pay for it $500/hr so he had some "skin in the game", exact words. I refused so Hiscock paid more money for mediation. I then hired a NYC Attorney to coach me with the mediation, he was an Attorney in Legal Malpractice in Divorce. We went to mediation, Bryn in the next room as her free Attorney attempted every excuse, including, "Hiscock Legal Aid is not held to the same standard as other Attorneys", it was laughable and it was a former Judge leading the mediation. Bryn finally settled for the amount I was seeking. It was amusing to see her signature on my Settlement contract. I was supposed to be paid within one week...the week passed, no check...I threatened a Judgement against her if the check was not overnighted, I received it the next day. I lived many years of abuse and financial abuse and Bryn was supposed to be a Domestic Violence Attorney? I have to say the complication of Bryn using a "court order" to freeze my Husband's Employee Welfare Benefits Plan and not a QDRO, and the harassment by her and her free Attorney, and her telling me to "have a nice life"...having to sue her myself.. was worse than any abuse I received in my marriage. And now, she works for the Syracuse Mayor? How does that even happen? BEWARE! I have grieved her with the New York State Bar Association with a copy of my settlement, over a year ago with NO RESPONSE...she should be disciplined ON THE RECORD because she is affiliated with the Onondaga Bar Association. Go to NYSCEF case is public, and on Trellis!

Bryn was a perfect fit for my family, I can't thank her enough for all she has done.

I had a situation where I was married to an abusive husband. He was abusive to the children and I was scared for their safety. I was a stay at home mom with no job or money of my own. I was terrified. I was referred to Bryn Lovejoy-Grinnel by a family member. I remember going to her office so... scared and not knowing what to do. She was so caring and understanding. She assured me that leaving the situation (which I wanted to do but didn't know how) was the best decision and we would make sure my kids would stay safe. The process was started and it was hard and scary, Bryn was there the whole way, every email or phone call, she would respond back immediately. I never felt alone or confused about anything going on. She always explained everything out to me if I didn't understand. If I wasn't sure about a situation or decision she would help me work it out until I was able to make a choice. It wasn't easy by any means but having Bryn as my lawyer, by my side, made me feel strong and confident in my decisions and I can't thank her enough for that. We were able to get the outcome we wanted because of Bryn's dedication and her directing me on what I needed to do. I was terrified that by leaving my ex he would get partial custody of the children and they would be in danger. Now, he has supervised visits 2 days a week and the children are doing amazing. We are all in a better place emotionally and physically and it wouldn't have happened without Bryn.
