Gail B. Rubenfeld

I retained Gail to handle a very difficult custody appeal (I was an appellate lawyer for years in a different jurisdiction and different practice area.) She jumped in, knew the law from the get-go, and was a pleasure to work with. Her brief was focused and on point and her oral argument was ex...cellent. There was a hot bench with several questions on the main point but also side issues. She was poised and masterful. In the end, she acheived a 4-0 reversal of a decision that was within the trial court's discretion. Then, on remand to the trial court, she negotiated final details with foresight and finess. Gail was businesslike, to the point, and friendly. Gail was recommended to me by a friend and colleague. I recommended Gail to family and other friends.

Gail is by far one of the best lawyers in Sullivan county and that I have ever encountered! I recently retained and hired her for a very important case and she was present, reachable, and extremely knowledgeable. She took my case when others made excuses and the odds weren't in my favor. The first da...y I consulted with her I knew she was the one and we won!!! when it came down to facing our opposition in court she was what you would want and expect an immensely qualified lawyer to be like. She is very honest and direct. A strong confident woman with qualities that if she were a man, most would respect! I was extremely impressed and satisfied by her performance in and outside the court room. I would always prefer a lawyer who will do the right thing and do an amazing job, rather one that is appeasing and sweet. Gail has my highest recommendation and I actually am hiring her again and recommending her to my friends and family!!!

Gail seems educated on the law but does not respect her clients. Very rude, simply hangs up the phone. When I called back she said, "I just hung up..", and goes on to say calmly, "so how can I help you..?". She used profanity directed towards me several times. Unfortunately, she was not as tough on o...ur advisary in court! I kept my cool, fired her and retained different counsel. I would not recommend!
