Biography
JOHN J. VENTOSA is a founding partner at McCabe Coleman Ventosa & Patterson, PLLC. Prior to joining the firm as a partner, John served his community as a Senior Assistant Public Defender in the Dutchess County Public Defender’s office, where he represented individuals charged with everything from simple violations to violent felonies and developed a reputation for aggressive, unrelenting representation of his clients’ interests and a keen knowledge of the law.
John has partnered up with some of the most well-respected and experienced attorneys in the Hudson Valley and will continue to serve his community by bringing that same aggressive and skilled representation to the private sector. In addition to serving Dutchess County as a Senior Assistant Public Defender and now as a founding partner at McCabe Coleman Ventosa & Patterson, PLLC, John also is an acting board member of People, Inc. – a non-profit organization devoted to helping and improving the lives of the psychiatrically labeled within our community. He has been on the board since early 2015 and his contribution of personal and professional experience to the organization has been instrumental in sustaining its rapid growth over the last several years.
John earned his BA from New York University and his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. He is a member of the Dutchess County Bar Association, Ulster County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Defender's Association and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
