"If you are a hugging man, you should give your Lawyer a hug." -- Actual Quote from a Judge about the Plea Deal

Proved that the cause of my Driving Misdemeanor was just an (stupid) oversight on my part, and that I rectified the situation as soon as possible. Got my double misdemeanor down to a Non-moving violation. He is very clear, knowledgable, and charming. He uses all of this to make You comfortable, ...and then uses it again to protect You with the Court and Prosecutors. Excellent!

Great lawyer and a good person

I live out of state and was camping in the Adirondacks where I got a UPM after getting pulled over because my friend rolled through a stop sign. Knowing nothing about the law in NY I was pretty freaked out. I was ready to just plead guilty and pay the fine to get it over with, but I tried calling a... few lawyers first to get a better idea of what I was getting into. Rakesh, the only one who answered my call, spent a good 45 minutes on the phone with me and he explained everything. I was ready to pay extra to have him drive up north to help me with this so I wouldn't have it on my record, and he declined on account of his conscience. He explained that I had nothing to lose in not having a lawyer at the arraignment for such a minor violation and that the fee for long distance representation would be a waste of my money. Rather than take advantage of my panic, he advised me to keep my money, explained the law, what to expect on the court date, and what I should say to get an ACOD. We also had backup plans for all the worst case scenarios, but he assured me that I would be fine. He was also graciously available when I called and texted a few more times with more questions. I followed his advice and the judge dismissed my case altogether. I came out of the whole ordeal with no stains on my record, no fine, and no lawyer fees. Apart from being very grateful to Rakesh for his knowledgeable advice, his time, and his ethics, I was particularly grateful for how genuinely sympathetic and reassuring he was. It sounds corny but his willingness to help me out made the whole exchange feel more like I was getting advice from a good friend who also happened to know the law inside and out. I highly recommend him, especially if what you are looking for is a good lawyer who is also a good person. Hire Rakesh.

traffic ticket reduction

I contacted Rakesh seeking help to reduce a speeding ticket that would have carried points against my license. Rakesh handled my case in the Menands Village Court and was able to have the penalty reduced to a fine only. He kept me apprised of developments in the case through clear, concise e-mails,... and the process proceeded very smoothly to a good conclusion.

Delivers on his Promise!

I am from MA and got a speeding ticket near Albany, NY (No Surprise there I guess!). Cited for 65 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone (I Know!). Contacted a few Lawyers around the Upstate Area but decided to Hire the Services of Rakesh. He was very reasonable compared to all the others I contacted. During our first... call he mentioned to me the most likely outcome of my case, and Delivered on it. My $250, 3 point NY Ticket (2 Point MA Transfer) was reduced to a $125 Parking Ticket. One thing I will mention is that once you explain you case to Rakesh, he will take care of it and get in touch with you only when necessary. I did pester him a lot for updates just because I was very curious. If you are like me and have the tendency to call or message constantly, trust me, you don't need to do that with Rakesh. He will take care of you and your case in a timely manner!

WORST, WORST, WORST SERVICE EVER

One of the most memorable experiences: He was never responsive (took days or a week to respond), never took initiative to discuss the case; worst of all, he never even helped appeal the case in my representation although he emailed me ensuring "everything is taken care of." But, he is excellent... with making up excuses to dodge as much contact as possible. I wish there is a half-star rating. Worst experience ever had. Now I have to either fight the ticket myself or find another lawyer.
