Colleen Anne Dooley

Colleen A. Dooley is admitted to practice in New York. She received her education at SUNY Brockport, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in and her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, at Thomas M. Cooley Law School (Lansing, MI). Colleen is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Albany County Bar Association.  

 Her practice areas include estate planning (Wills, Power-of-Attorney, Health Care Proxy, Living Wills, Trust planning), estate probate & administration, real estate, business transactions, not-for-profit formations, and title examination.

Colleen is a former Managing Partner for Partners in Dance (a re-grant program receiving funding from NYS Dance Force and NYSCA); a guest artist and on the advisor board for Nacre Dance Company; a volunteer stage manager and company photographer for Maude Baum & Co./eba Dance Theater; and was “Big Sister” with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Capital Region from 2008-2013. She is currently a volunteer foster home with Karma K-9 Rescue, Inc. (Albany, NY).

From law school to the present her objective has been to assist her clients in identifying and realizing their estate planning and business goals. Prior to graduating law school, she participated in the Sixty Plus Elder Law Clinic (Lansing, MI), where she assisted clients in preparing their wills, probating loved-ones' estates, and protecting the over-60 population from predatory business practices. In that clinic she was encouraged to engage in the practice of therapeutic jurisprudence, an approach she continues to use in her day-to-day practice.
