I hired Ed to represent me for a dui, it was my second one in 9 years. Since it was under 10 years it became a felony. I am a disabled veteran and I am on pain medicine, I put a couple of days of meds in 1 bottle because of convince, I was on no alcohol. I got charged with driving under the influence... of drugs and 3 possession of a controlled substance. Many people advised me to seek therapy when it became apparent how traumatized I was from a criminal charge filed against me by my ex-lawyer, in which I acted foolishly in an effort to protect him. My friends and family, since January 26, 2015 saw me become traumatized and told me so many times to go... to therapy to get over the trauma. I have become so traumatized over the filing of the criminal charge against me, that even now that it has been dropped thanks to Edward Palermo, I periodically call the police precinct to make sure I am not wanted. I periodically go the Criminal Court Window D220 to make sure there is no Court date for me God Forbid. I barricade the house doors with furniture when I see a police car near my block. My nights are filled with nightmares and my days with anxiety. My mixed feelings towards the person who filed this criminal charge, are constantly the focus of my mind and energy, even though I don't want them to be. The trauma from this criminal charge has changed me and overpowered me. When my wonderful phenomenal attorney Edward Palermo, whom I am forever grateful to, suggested I go to therapy-I knew he was right and that I had to. When Edward said it, I knew he was looking out for me as he does with all his clients and he wants the best for all of us. I knew he wanted me to get better and to get over this trauma. I knew I would and I did start looking for a therapist immediately after Edward Palermo said it. It didn't work out too well with the first therapist but I went to a 2nd therapist yesterday who specializes in treating people who have trauma and/or PTSD and he seems like a good fit for me. Edward Palermo is like a God to me and I will always follow his advice and trust him as I have since I met him last year. I trust him with my life-he saved it. He is so caring, kind, and the answer to my prayers. Thanks to this caring attorney, I am on my way hopefully to getting over this trauma that has become my life for one year and 2 months.
