Christopher M. Gioe, Esq.
I graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2005. Based on dedication and exceptional academic performance I graduated law school in two years on an accelerated program. Upon returning to New York, I was appointed by the District Attorney, Thomas J. Spota to a position as an Assistant District Attorney with Suffolk County. There I prosecuted thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases in the District and County Courts.
I spent 7 years with the District Attorney’s Office working hard and developing many valuable skills. I was assigned to several bureaus within the District Attorney’s Office such as the District Court Bureau, the Domestic Violence Bureau, the Case Advisory Bureau and the Major Crimes Bureau. While a productive assistant in these bureaus, I learned the intricacies of the Criminal Justice System including the Penal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, evidence gathering, and trial practice with a concentration on domestic violence, driving while intoxicated, and sex crime cases.
While with the Case Advisory Bureau and Major Crime Bureau, I handled hundreds of major offense cases. Major offenses included assaults, rapes, robberies, burglaries, vehicular crimes including DWI fatalities and DWI’s with serious physical injuries. I received extensive training on forensic analysis of motor vehicle crash scenes, accident reconstruction and advanced trial skills. Additionally, I handled many high profile prosecutions including gun shot cases, violent home invasions and sex cases involving children and adults.
My law firm, Piana & Gioe, LLC, is the product of years of education, preparation, and dedication to a legal career intended to serve the community. Whether you are facing criminal charges, injured from an accident, or seeking Business litigation I am an attorney who will aggressively represent your interests in and out of the courtroom.
