Andrew M. Doktofsky is passionate about protecting individuals and families affected by debt and unlawful consumer practices. This strong dedication is something that he has maintained throughout his life.
Before practicing law, Andrew served with the New York City Police Department for twenty years. He patrolled some of the city's toughest neighborhoods and held the rank of Captain upon retiring. During his career in the NYPD, Andrew learned the value of integrity and the importance of maintaining the highest possible standards of ethics. He had the honor of being awarded twenty-four medals for exemplary police work throughout these two decades.
Andrew's transition to the legal field was an extension of his concern for the wellbeing of the community and passion for the law. Making sacrifices and attending law school while still working with the NYPD, Andrew graduated from Touro Law School in 1997. After refining his knowledge and legal abilities at a small law firm, Andrew ventured out to start his own law firm, Andrew M. Doktofsky, P.C., which handles all types of bankruptcy cases including Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Long Island.
Opening his own practice was Andrew's opportunity to develop a closer relationship with clients who sought assistance during difficult times in their lives. This is the foundation of his law firm, which allows him to take his pledge to serve his clients even further.
