Hon. Gail Prudenti is an accomplished lawyer, jurist and leader who joined Burner Prudenti Law as partner in August 2023, focusing on estate administration and guardianship. Over a judicial career spanning more than two decades, she served as Chief Administrative Judge of New York State—appointed December 1, 2011—managing a $2.7+ billion court system with thousands of judges and employees. She made history as the first woman Presiding Justice of the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department (appointed 2002) and was the first woman from Suffolk County to serve as an Associate Justice there. As dean of Hofstra Law (May 2017–June 2023) she led the school’s 50th anniversary and a $22 million Vision 2020 campaign, elevated student credentials, bolstered finances, launched legal tech initiatives, and established a DEI Council. She served on the NY COVID 19 Recovery Task Force, co founded Mediation Solutions of NY, and was named Chair of the SCBA Judicial Screening Committee in January 2025. A 2025 Icon Honors awardee, she earned her law degree from the University of Aberdeen and lives in Great River with her husband, Robert J. Cimino.
