Non-responsive, non-strategic, billed for services never rendered

Paid for representation. Got dismissal and an empty inbox instead. I'll keep this simple because the pattern is clear. I came prepared. Documentation spanning years. Evidence organized and professional. Clear picture of violations. I wanted an offensive strategy — not settlement, not defense-on...ly. Nine months in, I had none of those things. He wouldn't develop a game plan. Wouldn't use the documentation I provided (his office said I was sending "too much information" — yes, to my own attorney). Wouldn't respond to emergencies. Lost my parenting time on his watch while I waited for callbacks that never came. When an emergency came up, I called. Secretary said she couldn't help but someone would call me back. They didn't. Then they billed me for that call. When I started filing emergency motions myself — because he wouldn't — he told me the court was upset about the paperwork. Not her. The court. Meanwhile, every motion I filed was legitimate and time-sensitive. When I pushed back and said "you work for me, not the other way around," he withdrew. The reviews on Google said the same thing: non-responsive, no strategy, dismissive. I'm not angry about the loss. I'm angry about paying someone $10K to not work while telling me the system is unfair and there's nothing that can be done. Don't make my mistake. Ask him upfront: Will you develop an offensive strategy? Will you return calls? Will you actually use the documentation I'm giving you? If he hesitates, run.

Worst attorney

He walks around with a big ego but is the worst lawyer. He’ll talk a big game to you so you retain him but once he has your money you’re old news. Never prepared for court. 0/10

Do not waste your time or your money

Do yourself a favor and hire someone else. If you want to be charged a lot of money without any results or action go for it. You will repeat yourself over and over and nothing will get done in a timely manner.

Not happy client

Poor rating across the board. There's just no other word than inept. After 25 years practicing divorce law there is no excuse for ineptitude on this scale- I would have been better going to the divorce clinic at Touro. Didn't look over the stipulation and divorce papers carefully--he actually had i...ncluded things that caused me harm and hurt my case. He didn't look out or advocate for me--he looked out for his needs not to ruffle feathers with opposing counsel. Never took the time to explain the divorce papers--and this cost me--and my kids.. Non-responsive. Called me up and started yelling at ME because I had a question (of course ignoring the fact that her had not returned none of my other 100 phone calls) was more interested in my eyes than the papers. Made more mistakes than I care to put in and definitely is more concerned with his buddy (it seems like every other lawyer in the world) than me, his PAYING client. Find someone who cares and is more motivated to fight for you- you may do worse but you'll have to try really hard to do so.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. My messages were ignored by Kevin Werner and his paralegal. Going through a divorce is difficult enough but not getting paperwork filed in a timely manner and questions answered made this even worse. Wish I had read the other comments on this site before I retained him. Now I'm... finding a new attorney.
