Excellent all around

Once I had made the decision to file for bankruptcy, I found the process of finding the right lawyer to be frightening and overwhelming, but once I sat down with Neil at the initial consultation, he immediately helped me feel at ease. He took his time explaining the entire process, what to expect bef...ore, during and after filing, the types of filings that were the best options for me as well as his experience and qualifications. He patiently listened to all of my concerns and answered all my questions. I am grateful to have retained his and his partner Kamini's services. They were always available and took the extra step to check in and make sure I understood everything throughout each step. They are an extremely kind and knowledgeable team.

5 Star Bankruptcy Lawyer

When I torn about what to do with my credit card debt I googled for a bankruptcy attorney and came across Neil Ackerman's name. I guess Google liked me that day because I hit the jackpot. Mr. Ackerman's firm took the time to explain to me all options and did not force me into anyone. They were with m...e every step of the way and even after my bankruptcy was discharged. If you are in need to determine the best avenue to go down, I would highly suggest contacting Neil Ackerman and have them get you though one of the toughest times of your lives. I couldn't be happier today!

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2015.

Censured issued in NY, 2015

updated on 07/26/2017

When an attorney is censured it means he or she did something wrong but may still practice law. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Neil’s comment:

“The Discipline that I received was a public censure for driving while intoxicated, which was issued after I reported myself to the New York State Bar for this. I have never been censured or disciplined for anything to do with my practice of law, my representation of clients, or my ability to practice Law. To the contrary, I have received numerous awards and much public recognition as an attorney,”
