Avi Cohen

I saw another review made by somebody that had a horrible experience. I want to save potential future. Clients considering this Lawyer for child custody matters because most likely you will lose your child with this attorney and the case and most likely he will call you crazy because he does not want... to work or look at the bigger picture or fight for the truth I recommend. Looking for a REAL LOYER because this is not it On the other hand, hopefully the other council will have this attorney so that is an advantage but if you are having this attorney represent you, you might as well just for your rights while paying him

I was stuck in a contentious divorce and had nearly lost hope with the trajectory of my case. I initially hired a different lawyer, who clearly had no interest in his clients unless their case seemed profitable. When I found Avi Cohen everything changed. Avi is an incredible lawyer. In the lowest poi...nt of my life he cared for my case, for myself as a person, and for the wellbeing of my children. We involved a children's attorney, as he advised, and it made all the difference. He is also very understanding and takes one's financial standing into consideration. I never felt any financial pressure with him and I felt he treated me with great dignity. He advocated for myself and for my children while maintaining a positive attitude and respect for everyone involved. In the end, Avi has a great skill for finding the best solution given your unique circumstances and is unafraid to offer his level-headed honest advice (he also has a great sense of humor). The only thing I would have done differently in this divorce was to ditch my previous lawyer altogether and start with Avi sooner. 

I hired Avi Cohen through an ad in a local paper touting him as one of NY's best attorneys. He sent a petition to me to review before sending it to the court. I marked up the document and sent it back. He sent this marked-up version with words crossed out and my handwritten notes to the court. He was... weak and timid before the judge. I fired him before the retainer was used up. His bill included time spent during the free consultation. He refused to refund the retainer. When he finally did send my money back he held 3% for credit card processing.

I consulted with Avi Cohen and learned he is a proficient and diligent attorney. I also referred a client to him, and he prevailed for her. He's reliable, proactive, and thorough. Last but not least, he's understanding and personable. His briefs are exceptionally well written and compellingly persua...sive.
