Dr.

Steven Epstein is extremely good at what he does. He is professional, reliable, and pleasant to work with. He represented me in a DWI case, and obtained a very favorable outcome. I would certainly recommend him to anyone in need of his services. It is unlikely you will find someone more expert in thi...s field.

Steve Epstein, Esq is a Class Act!

I believe that we all cross each others paths in life for a reason. I wanted to take my time and think about what I could say in this review. The truth is that words cannot come close to expressing how grateful we are to Mr Epstein and his entire team. I was referred to Steven by a colleague after m...y son found himself in a very serious legal situation. We initially were being led down a very dark and scary road with a "local " attorney. Thinking we needed to hire "local" representation was a huge mistake. We needed an expert. Mr Epstein is not only an expert in his field, he is the BEST! He traveled to Dutchess County and it is easy to see why he quickly earned the respect of the judge. I cannot say how grateful we are for his expertise, his professionalism, and his genuine caring representation. I honestly do not know how we would have navigated through everything, and kept our sanity without him. He kept us informed and supported us emotionally through this very stressful situation. Knowing he was in charge of the matter was our only comfort. He knows the law inside and out and his keen eye and expertise saved our son from a felony conviction with a maximum 4 years prison sentence. I just cannot say enough, only that if you are looking for the "right" attorney, you should hire them without reservation. Alicia C

Compassionate and Confident

Steven was referred to me by the court-appointed attorney, who suggested that I had a good chance of fighting my DWI charge. Throughout the entire 13 month process, Steven explained every step of the process and no question I had for him was too small or insignificant. With his help, my case was ...eventually dismissed. Steven put me at ease every step of the way of a very stressful process. I'm very glad I chose Steven to represent me and I'm extremely grateful for his poise and diligence.

A shot at a second chance...

I was arrested for an aggravated DWI in March 2015. I had never been in trouble with the law and I was extremely emotional after I was released from the New York County jail the following day. I felt defeated as I was informed that I did not qualify for a Public Defender to represent me and being fr...om New Jersey I had no clue where to begin with exploring my options for an experienced lawyer to represent me. I was charged with four charges: (1) Aggravated DWI, (2) DWI per se (over legal limit of .08), (3) DWI under the common law, and (4) Driving while my ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. I met with two lawyers prior to meeting with Steven. After every consultation my father and I never left confident that they would be able to defend me in such a difficult case. Steven was recommended to me through a friend who happened to be with me the morning I was arrested. The minute I spoke with his paralegal, Suzanne, to schedule a consultation I felt a genuine sense of compassion from her. Prior to meeting with Steven he had requested that the District Attorney (DA) provide him with my paperwork in order to obtain further information and provide me with better feedback. In calling to request my documents, the DA immediately inquired about how I found Steven and stated that he was the best in the state of New York. Feeling much more reassured about the decision to have Steven represent me, my father and I met with him at his Manhattan office. During the meeting with Steven, he was extremely detailed and I knew he thoroughly reviewed my paperwork from the night of the incident. My father and I felt comfortable with proceeding with Steven given his extensive knowledge and the confidence we had in him to represent me appropriately. The overall process was extremely stressful and emotional for me. I worked so hard to be where I was personally and professionally with my career and I did not want to lose it all. I was facing possible criminal charges that would impact my background. Steven reassured me of the potential consequences and also expressed to me various times that having a DWI would not severely impact me in the way that I feared. It took one year and 10 months for my case to finally go to trial. Prior to the trial, a pre-trial was held two months before. Steven tried to accommodate me as much as possible since my current employer was unaware of me legal situation and I was challenged with not having many vacation or personal days to take off from work. My case was so difficult that Steven was realistic with me and explained that if the verdict was not guilty on the first three and then guilty on the last it would still be considered a win. Steven remained poised throughout our days in court and really did a great job of identifying areas within my case to focus in on that favored me. Steven is very knowledgeable and effectively supports all the evidence presented with credible facts, which resulted in the jury reaching a verdict of not guilty for all four charges. The time and money invested to have Steven successfully represent me was worth it. Steven and Suzanne gave me a second chance at life and I feel truly blessed.

To put it succinctly, Steven Epstein, Aida Leisenring and the legal team at Barket, Marion et al are simply the best.

The laws surrounding DUI are complicated and the implications of a conviction are far further reaching than one may realize. In order to mount a successful defense, you truly need an attorney who is a demonstrated expert in the field. Steven Epstein is such an individual. From his many accolades to h...is numerous invitations as a guest lecturer, there is no second guessing his credentials. I found myself in an unfortunate situation where I had been charged with a DUI, DWAI, texting while driving as well as failure to keep lane. I am a professional who has travels internationally for work. Thus my career and immigration were dependent on the outcome of this case. This unfortunate event happened after only having been in the USA for approximately 30 days. As I was new to the area, I hired a lawyer based on a recommendation, who is a named partner in his firm and who purportedly is an expert in DUI law. I can tell you that this was a mistake. He initially stated he “was confident” he could win the case. However as time progressed, I began losing faith. Eight months later, after he burned through his large retainer, he was willing to take the first deal the DA office made. I was almost ready to throw in the towel when Mr. Epstein’s name was brought to my attention. I knew from my first call with him that this was the person I wanted representing me. He provided me with more information in one phone call than my original attorney could provide in eight months. Reinvigorated with a belief that I stood a fair chance of having justice, I immediately replaced my counsel with Mr. Epstein. I am not an attorney and have minimal knowledge of the law; however, when Mr. Epstein’s team took over, it was like I upgraded from a 30 year old cheuvette to a brand new Ferrari in terms of quality. The first thing that struck me about Mr. Epstein and Ms. Leisenring was their attention to detail. While my original attorney seemed inattentive, Mr. Epstein’s team were all ears. When they spoke, it was clear they knew every relevant minutiae of the law. Their data collection was comprehensive and top quality. The motions that Mr. Epstein’s team filed made it clear how little my former attorney knew and how much more there was to my case. The second thing was the professionalism. Mr. Epstein and Ms. Leisenring were always available to speak, promptly returned phone calls and provided me with regular updates. This is paramount as going through this kind of ordeal can be quite anxiety provoking and it is a huge relief to be able to kept in the loop. After my experience with my previous attorney, I had a general distrust for lawyers, but Mr. Epstein’s team completely changed my outlook - I know that he genuinely believed in my case. Lastly, the brilliant outside-the-box thinking propels Mr. Epstein to a whole new level. He presented me with strategies that made me realize for the first time, that I could feel confident about winning. They say certain professions require a calling to the field - Steven undoubtedly was born to advocate. In the end, I went from almost accepting a DWAI charge to having all charges dismissed except for texting while driving. This is where Steven shows his commitment to perfection: even though I considered this a huge victory, it wasn’t enough for him - he wanted the cherry on top. He went back to the table and negotiated down to a parking ticket. I even heard the judge comment that if he needed an attorney, he would want Mr. Epstein. To Mr. Epstein, Ms. Leisenring and the staff at Barket, Marion, you have my utmost respect, admiration and gratitude. Thank you for bringing me justice and saving my career.

"As a auto civil trial defense attorney, I have tried numerous cases each year and know what to expect from a seasoned and technically and professionally competent trial attorney. In my dealings with Steven, I have improved my own professional competence through his DUI / DWI CLE programs and individual case analysis. I have also observed him in the courtroom, where he demonstrated both competence and professionalism of a trial lawyer focused on the best possible outcome for his client. I trust Steven's judgment and skill above all others in this area. I have worked with him for almost three years in various capacities and wholeheartedly recommend him and his firm for your legal needs. In our professional relationship, I also learned of his firm's work outside the DWI / DUI framework, including commercial litigation and civil rights work. I have had the privilege of working with his partner, Kevin Kearon, who was direct, professional, and demonstrated an august approach to the professio"
