Alexander Potruch

I could write a book based on the life lessons learned from Mr. Potruch, whose vast wealth of knowledge and experience (not to mention his kind and careful guidance) were instrumental in successfully establishing custodial rights for my child. Initially recommended by two prominent NYC-based attorney...s, Mr. Potruch went out of his way to set up time-sensitive initial consultation at his Garden City office. He immediately set about prepping for first Family Court appearance a week later. One soon learns that, like a chess master, this seasoned pro is constantly thinking several steps ahead. His attention to detail is second to none, navigating the passage through what is an undeniably stressful experience. Listening is key when working with Mr. Potruch, however he also hears all. Further, his hands-on experience in the Family Court provides exceptional clarity. In short, he knows who's-who and what's what. After an intense period of pre-trial preparation (included excellent EBT), Mr. Potruch was outstanding in the courtroom. Never bombastic or unnecessarily outspoken, he is clearly a most judicious speaker. In dealing with the judge (& second), Mr. Potruch was a total pro, direct and savvy, always perfect timing. He also excelled in interacting with opposing counsel - firm and straight to the point but never controversial. His cross-examination work was second to none. In short, Mr. Potruch kept to his word, provided a most satisfactory result, and has continued to be extremely supportive. During the most difficult time of my life Alex was there. Many times he told me things that i didn't want to hear but needed to. I owe alot to Alex. As there were serious custody issues at risk, he never took his eyes of the goal of getting the optimum results for my children’s best welfare. All things being equal, he always chose the path which would minimize my own trauma and always concerned himself with minimizing his fees, (which were always fair and never inflated). Mr. Potruch represented me in a very difficult case where the judge (Ross - who passed away) seemed to favor my "x" from the very outset - before any evidence was even submitted or trial held (as a token of respect, I won't share the reason for it). He is smart, very knowledgeable and calls it as he... sees it.
