Ms Negron presided over my child custody hearing. Her way of handling my case (and I had joint custody mind you) cause my children to move 500 miles away from me causing irreparable damage to our relationship. She used threats to such as "put your children "through a trial that is going to be very... hard on them I assure you" to get me to agree things that were basically the lesser of two evils. Mildred Negron was not my attorney but was the Court Referee in my child custody case in the summer of 2007. The whole process, hearing and "trial", was an abomination in terms of so-called justice. She was informed of the fact that my ex-husband had been violent; physically and verbally abusive to m...e and verbally/emotionally abusive to the children. She was shown a pile of reports from the police visits to our home before and during the divorce process. They made no difference to her. She was told that the child (who was living with her father at that time) was not clean, was missing patches of hair due to nervousness, was not being taken for routine medical and dental check-ups, was shown how the child was being manipulated to alienate herself from me, I could go on for hours. She awarded residential custody of my daughter to him anyway!! AFTER POLICE REPORTS SHOWING HIS VIOLENCE, SHE AWARDED A 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL TO THIS MAN! Any time my witnesses or I (I ended up representing myself) attempted to explain something, we were silenced or told to answer in a few words, yes or no. My ex-husband was permitted to go on and on, elaborating and fabricating. Any time a court guard or other staff needed to speak with my ex-husband, they always started to address him in Spanish (based on his looks, presumably) and always asked him if he wanted an interpreter (based on his accent, presumably). Firstly, he speaks English perfectly, albeit with an accent. Secondly, he is not of Spanish-speaking heritage. But it was obvious to all present that Ms. Negron thought he was and "took his side" accordingly.
