I found myself in a not so great situation. A domestic violence case. When my partner called Mr. Dreishpoon at 11pm he sent one of his partners down to the courthouse immediately. Once I spoke with his partner about what was going on he had me out of central bookings before midnight. Which I thought ...was amazing. I met with Mr. Dreishpoon on my next court date he spoke to me about how court works (it was my first time). And he gave me options on what I can do but he also gave his opinion on what I should do. Which was very helpful. I never was in the courthouse for more than an hour he always made sure I was the first person to see the judge. Long story short he got my case dismissed and it it will be sealed in a year providing that I don't get into any trouble. And I thank him for his help. I was charged in a domestic violence case although I am actually the victim. Mr. Dreishpoon helped me get an ACD (Adjourment in contemplation of dismissal) without a trial. However, he is not the first attorney I hired on the case. While the other attorneys I interviewed all tried to tell me it i...s to my best interest to avoid a trial by working out a deal with the DA in a domestic violence case, he is the only one who encouraged me to fight if I believe I am innocent. Not having much confidence in the system and in the fear of going to jail if I lose the case in a trial, I took the advice of these other attorneys in the beginning hoping that they can convince the DA I don't deserve the charges. Unfortunately, the DA would rather believe in the lies of my ex-girlfriend and would not offer to let all the charges go. Eventually, I decided to face the trial because my conscience told me I would regret for the rest of my life if I admitted to something I did not do while the truth is in fact the other way around. I went back to Mr. Dreishpoon and asked him to help me. Once I made up my mind and the trial was scheduled, my ex-girlfriend started to make all kinds of excuse not to come to the trial despite that she had such a hard stance in the beginning. After the trial was postponed a couple times, the DA offered ACD with 6 months of limited order protection. Mr. Dreishpoon told me the only difference between an ACD and a trial dismissal is the 6 months waiting period and advised me to take it. Since I probably won't see my ex-girlfriend for the rest of my life after all she did to me, I took the offer for the peace of mind.
