Terrible, Arrogant, Didn't do ANY work, Talks a big game, Doesn't remember anything

We hired him to reduce a DOL issue we had for an employee. Let me tell you that Mr. Hans is arrogant and he didn't do any work whatsoever. I provided him the time sheets, and analyzed the entire data set. All he did was pass it on to the agent. I could have done that myself. He didn't even try to red...uce the damages. I reached out to the agent and got other concessions to reduce my exposures. He took over a month to get me back a simple employment contract for a separate issue. He doesn't remember any of the conversations he has and you have to constantly repeat and follow up with him. Basically I paid him for nothing. I could have saved that money, since I did all the work anyways. I work with Attorney's all the time, and he's by far the worst.

I would like to respectfully clarify that this review is not truthful. This particular client wished to minimize his legal fees by representing himself in negotiations with the Department of Labor. Unfortunately, this misguided decision compromised our ability to properly protect and assist him. This client is a young and inexperienced business owner. When facing a DOL investigation, a business owner should place themselves in the hands of legal counsel, and it is imperative that the attorney should solely handle all communications with government investigators in order to present a coherent and effective defense. That simply cannot happen if the client inserts himself directly into proceedings, as this particular client did, leading to an unfavorable outcome for which he has unfortunately decided to blame my firm. If I had been allowed to properly handle this matter as I saw fit, a much better outcome likely could have been achieved. The remaining statements in the review about lack of responsiveness are simply untrue.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
