I hired Peter to represent me after contacting a "so called" gun Attorney, that told me I had no chance of winning my case. He was wrong, Peter won the case for me, He was very concerned, knowledgeable about what I was going through. I would highly recommend him to anyone with a firearms related is...sue. I came to Tilem & Campbell with a pressing, thorny legal issue. Not only did Peter Tilem make room in his busy schedule for me that very day, he consulted with his partner on my issue. Without resorting to trickery or arcane loopholes, they used their obviously vast knowledge of the law to expose... a critical flaw in the proceedings against me that not only aided me, but resulted in my being able to walk away from the entire proceedings without further thought. There were several factors beyond this that made Peter Tilem and his firm stand out, in my opinion, in the legal community: • They were speedy and informative communicators: not only were they quick to respond to my calls, they were able to explain "legalese" in layman's terms in a way that was respectful and clear. • Despite the size and stature of their firm (they have been called frequently as media experts), they are willing to take on small, less lucrative clients in the name of justice, e.g., their noted work with battered women and children.) • Peter Tilem follows UP with clients - even when the situation is resolved, Mr. Tilem takes great care to keep in contact with clients to reassure them and to let them know he will be there should any repercussions arise. I have had to deal with several attorneys in my life; I consider Peter Tilem to be among the finest.

I retained this firm expecting experienced legal guidance and professional communication. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of that expectation. From the outset, communication was limited, delayed, and at times dismissive. I repeatedly had to follow up for basic updates and documents tha...t were discussed but never provided. Despite being billed at a senior attorney rate, there was minimal substantive work performed on my matter. When I raised concerns about the billing and lack of progress, instead of a professional discussion or review of the invoice, the response I received was abrupt and reactive. There was no meaningful attempt to resolve the issue or justify the charges. What is most concerning is the disconnect between the fees charged and the actual level of service provided. Clients should expect transparency, communication, and diligence—especially when paying premium legal rates. That standard was not met here. I am sharing this along with supporting documentation so others can make an informed decision before retaining this firm. My recommendation: proceed with caution, ensure you have clear written expectations, and closely review all billing entries. They wouldn’t even provide me with an executed retainer. The owner and Partners name is Peter Tilem. He exhausted a $7,500 retainer on one court appearance and a few hours of admin work.
