While I enjoyed many successful years as a partner at Novenstern & Gaudio, LLP and Novenstern, Fabriani & Gaudio, LLP, I started a new firm with Ellen Jancko Baken, Esq. and Neil Fredman, Esq., called Fredman Baken & Novenstern, LLP as of July 1, 2019. We have practiced together for over a year and have successfully transitioned. We are working through the Covid pandemic and are ready to assist with divorce and family law matters for spouses, partners, parents and others in a family oriented relationship. We train regularly in Collaborative Law and Mediation, and also handle LGBTQIA marriages.

Highly recommended
I worked with Ken for almost a year on my divorce case with child custody issues. I am very grateful for what Ken did on my case. From start to finish, he's knowledgeable and responsive. He explained everything clearly, advocated strongly on my behalf. He prepared well for every court appearance a...

Knowledgeable and, most importantly, a stable influence
I was seeking a modification to my collaborative divorce agreement, and after a failed attempt to come to an agreement through collaborative attorneys (no surprise there), my attorney recommended Ken to represent me. My ex lives in an alternative reality and her attorney was more than happy to promot...

High quality representation at a fair price
Ken Novenstern (and his team) handled my incredibly challenging and difficult divorce with the utmost professionalism, respect, and efficacy. Unfortunately, my matter stretched out over MANY years, through periods of heavy activity and long periods of inactivity, and with increasingly difficult finan...

Horrificly Spineless
This guy wuz a disaster from day one. He screwed up the warrant serving, never got me into court and when he did, allowed me to get trampled and never got me in front of a judge. When he finally sent over the divorce proposal, he asked for a bunch of religious holidays and stipulations I had never t...
Eric started from a very difficult place with his Wife very upset, believing that Eric had an affair, and one of his daughters refusing to see him. Financially, the mortgage on his home was under water. His Wife worked on and off, and had surgery during the proceedings. Eric withheld damaging information from me, including a video taken by his older daughter in which Eric was screaming at his 5 year old son at the top of his lungs, using the f word at his son, and mocking his son by calling him a girl's name. There were likely more videos but Eric took his daughter's cell phone. His Wife made other allegations against Eric with respect to prescription drug abuse, and the Court temporarily suspended his ability to drive with his children. Eric would contact me on nights and weekends and I would advise him how to handle a situation that arose with one or both of his daughters, who would direct profanity at him, refuse to see or speak with him, make scenes in restaurants. I tried my best working with Eric and his Wife's attorney. But there was too much anger and bitterness in both directions. Eric is a school teacher so if a complaint was filed with Child Protective, he could have had a finding of neglect or abuse against him, and possibly lost his job. While I tried my best to avoid something like CPS involvement, and was successful, and tried to calm matters down and find solutions, he and his Wife could not put aside their anger, and mutual poor judgment, and work in the best interests of their children. In regard to legal fees, Eric only paid a small percentage of the total fees in this matter, which included many trips to Court in Putnam County. He ignored requests for payment and ultimately filed bankruptcy. If you have questions about Eric's review, please contact me to discuss. Unfortunately, while I tried my best, and believe that his claims are baseless, there was only so much that anyone could do under these circumstances. Eric does not take responsibility for his circumstances, and looks to place blame on others. I wish Eric the best, and hope you will consider my side of this story.
"I am an attorney in practice in Westchester County for more than 30 years and recently for the second time I was on the opposite side of a difficult divorce case representing parties who were splitting after a long-term marriage. There were a multiplicity of complex issues and Ken Novenstern is a courteous, diligent, ethical, knowledgeable, tough opponent. He maintains an even temperament, rigidly focused on the interests of his client while at the same time remaining respectful and courteous to counsel on the other side. That is a difficult balance and Ken's clients are extremely well served with him and clearly they have made a wise choice in hiring him."
"I have known Ken in excess of two decades. He is an expert negotiator, and does his best to resolve matters in an amicable, cost effective and expeditious fashion. He treats his clients with compassion, and is always there to support their needs. His knowledge in the field of Matrimonial Law cannot be questioned. I highly endorse Ken as he is not only a credit to his profession; but in addition, a colleague whose integrity and skills cannot be matched."
"I am always comfortable referring clients to Ken. He is smart, diligent and highly experienced. I particularly appreciate his reasonable demeanor and authentic concern for his clients."
"Ken is an excellent attorney. We have worked on several cases together and he knows how to integrate advocacy with good faith negotiations to meet his clients’ interests and help them move forward with their life."
"I endorse this lawyer. Kenneth Novenstern is a zealous advocate for his clients. I have had several cases with Ken, both as opposing counsel and as collaborative counterpart. In settlement discussions with Ken, It quickly becomes apparent that he truly sympathizes with his clients’ needs and interests and that he tries to achieve the best outcome for them within the confines of the law. With that said, Ken guides his clients through the divorce process, offering settlement alternatives and helping his clients sidestep positions that will needlessly cause them to incur attorneys fees without hope for a positive outcome. It is a pleasure to deal with Ken, because you can be assured that while his clients interests are paramount, he is also focused on getting to a settlement that will be beneficial to his clients without losing sight of the financial and emotional toll being exacted by prolonged litigation."
