Based in White Plains, the law office of David I. Grauer serves individuals, business owners, property owners, title companies and corporations in the Lower Hudson Valley and throughout the New York City metropolitan area. Attorney Grauer is admitted to practice law in all courts of the state of New York as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Attorney Grauer was elected to serve on the White Plains City Council for eight years and during his tenure he was elected President of the Council by the other council members. Subsequent to his position as a city councilman, Attorney Grauer was appointed to serve as special counsel to the Mayor of the City of White Plains. In that role, for four years Attorney Grauer worked on legislative and legal issues facing the city, county, and state where he developed extensive governmental experience on a local and regional level.

He has tried cases and handled appeals at all levels, including landmark precedent-setting decisions and appeals. He is also admitted to the bar in the state of Massachusetts and he is a member of local, county and state bar associations in the state of New York.

Out of State Custody Case

I was divorced in 2017 out-of-state and my ex-wife relocated back to New York and I hired David Grauer to represent me in a very complex post-divorce custody proceeding in New York. David Grauer quickly understood all of the issues and he fought tirelessly for me to enable me to maintain the understanding that was part of the divorce effectively defeating my ex-wife’s efforts to re-write the decree. More than just a lawyer.

David Grauer represented me in a contested divorce proceeding and in every way he served me extremely well. My ex wife who is an aggressive practicing attorney was represented by counsel and despite her efforts to drag this out in court Mr Grauer wisely counseled me to ultimately enable us to resolve this difficult case via entry into a comprehensive settlement stipulation. Property encroachment

David Grauer represented us in Federal Court against a foreign governmental entity that owned the residence next door to our property. This was a very complex case, as the foreign governmental entity tried to use diplomatic immunity as a means to evade the legal consequences of their encroachment of our property. Mr. Grauer skillful handling of our case not only vindicated our property rights, but also allowed us to receive partial monetary compensation as part of a sanction award after the Federal Court of Appeals sustained the District Court decision that denied the foreign government’s attempt to toss out our case.
