Nelson De La Cruz

When people ask what kind of law I practice, the honest answer starts with the person in front of me. Most of my work is in family and matrimonial law: custody, visitation, child support, orders of protection, paternity and divorce, both contested and uncontested. I also defend clients in criminal matters, represent tenants and landlords in housing court, and handle family-based immigration matters.

I am the Managing Attorney and Founder of THE NDLC LAW FIRM, PLLC, a Bronx-based, fully virtual practice. I serve clients in all five boroughs and in Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam and Sullivan Counties. I was admitted to the New York Bar in 2009. I am also admitted in the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of Michigan and the Central District of California. I represent clients in English and Spanish.

My path to family and criminal practice was not a straight line. Before focusing on individuals and families, I handled high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters for global financial institutions, including UBS, JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank. That work taught me to read documents closely, follow the money, and prepare for anything. I later led the family law department of a New York firm, and I bring the same discipline to every client I represent today. I am a graduate of Pace University School of Law and Syracuse University.
