Biography
Since 2001, Pete Weinman has been practicing law, primarily on Staten Island, with a focus on residential real estate and, occassionally, general civil litigation. Clients and colleagues know him for his integrity, straightforward advice, and hands‑on approach. He is committed to giving each client personal attention and keeping them informed at every stage of their matter.
Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Weinman worked full‑time for Project Hospitality, Inc., a Staten Island not‑for‑profit devoted to serving the homeless, the mentally ill, and individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. While working days and attending classes at night, he earned his B.A. in English from the City University of New York (CUNY) College of Staten Island in 1992. He continued that work‑while‑studying path and received his J.D. from New York Law School in 2000.
During law school, he combined his interest in technology and the law by freelancing as a “computer guy and law student.” He designed and automated databases, legal forms, and office systems for numerous New York City law firms—many of which still use his automated forms today.
After admission to practice in New York and New Jersey, Mr. Weinman spent his first decade as an associate with several of Staten Island’s most respected law firms, including Lee & Amtzis, LLP, Gaines & Fishler, LLP, and Corash & Hollender, P.C. There, he gained extensive experience in all aspects of real estate transactions and related litigation. He opened his own practice in May 2010.
Mr. Weinman has a long record of bar and community service. He completed four three‑year terms as a Director of the Richmond County Bar Association (RCBA), serving from 2011–2014, 2015–2017, 2018–2021, and 2021–2024. In 2016, he was elected to the Board of the Staten Island Women’s Bar Association (SIWBA), serving as a Director for one year and remaining an active member. He has also been involved with the Staten Island Trial Lawyers Association (SITLA), the RCBA Volunteer Lawyers Project, and the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA).
In addition to his legal work, Mr. Weinman is an active member of the Staten Island Board of Realtors® (SIBOR) and the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). From 2005 to 2020, he served as a volunteer arbitrator in the Richmond County Civil Court, Small Claims Part, regularly hearing cases on Friday mornings and Thursday evenings until the COVID‑19 pandemic. He is also the last original founding board member still serving on the Board of New World Preparatory Charter School (NWP), Staten Island’s first charter middle school, which opened in 2010 and, as of 2020, serves students in grades K–5.
Since September 2019, Mr. Weinman has been a New York State Department of State–certified Real Estate Instructor, qualified to teach courses to real estate professionals.
Outside the office, Mr. Weinman values time with his wife, Darlene, and their four children. A vegetarian, he enjoys motorcycling and running, and has completed every New York City Marathon since 2000, typically finishing in about five hours. He and Darlene also enjoy riding their bicycle built for two around Staten Island.

Very Knowledgeable
