If it was not for this man, despite the fact that traveling to his law firm offices in Staten Island, NY can be a problem for someone such as I who does not drive nor own a car, I would not had gotten the money which I'd worked so damm hard for during my seven year tenure at Fairmont Insurance Broker...s in Bklyn. I hired Jonathan Behrins for a divorce case several years ago upon the recommendation of a friend of his. He assured me he would fight for my case and told me my previous lawyer was incompetent and he would do better. However, when it came to settlement time, he failed to due basic due diligence on t...he financial and custody settlement and insisted this was the "best deal he could get". In retrospect and upon consultation with others, none of the numbers added up and he was only interested in settling as quick as he could. I retained Jonathan Behrins to resolve a dispute with a medium sized construction contractor. We had a formal working relationship for several years, whereby my company was responsible for recruiting, screening and on-boarding a greater part of their critical staff. Essentially, after successful...ly completing our tasks and awaiting payment, those responsible for issuing payment were suddenly unavailable and my firm went months without any acknowledgement or payment for services rendered. Where most attorneys would have simply litigated the matter, Mr. Behrins was able to diffuse the situation and negotiated a settlement that saved both parties immense legal fees. He was able to do this in less than two weeks, whereas my colleagues and I had spent months and months trying to elicit a response from this company.
