Jonathan B Behrins

I hired Jonathan Behrins for a divorce case several years ago upon the recommendation of a friend of his. He assured me he would fight for my case and told me my previous lawyer was incompetent and he would do better. However, when it came to settlement time, he failed to due basic due diligence on t...he financial and custody settlement and insisted this was the "best deal he could get". In retrospect and upon consultation with others, none of the numbers added up and he was only interested in settling as quick as he could. I eventually ended up firing Mr. Behrins and rehiring my old lawyer. Mr Behrins cost me both financially and emotionally.

I hired Jonathan Behrins for a divorce settlement case. Despite telling me that he was experienced and would fight to go to trial, he subsequently refused and urged me to take a settlement instead. Mr. Behrins showed a complete lack of professionalism throughout, conducting business by text messag...ing as well as showing up late and without *any* documents to the first meeting with the opposing attorneys. He even asked the opposing attorney for help regarding an issue on which he was unfamiliar! More importantly, Mr. Behrins completely failed to conduct any due diligence in the case, neglecting to do the math behind the settlement, neglecting to follow-up on several dubious financial claims by the defense, and agreeing to clauses which were subsequently found to be illegal and/or unenforceable. I was forced to fire him for his failure to represent me adequately and then hire a new attorney, which eventually cost me thousands of dollars more in fees.
