I hired Myers to defend me in a case involving multiple charges, including felonies. I was not guilty of most of the charges against me, especially the more serious ones. Myers did not introduce hard evidence I provided him with, evidence which refuted the more serious charges against me. Myers faile...d to mount an effective defense on my behalf. Myers came to trial unprepared, unfocused, and confused on basic facts. His failures were a primary cause in getting me convicted on all counts. Myers was totally ineffective as a defense attorney in my case.

I was not expecting criminal trouble in my life but it found me. I began asking the right people for a good attorney and Matt Myers name came up more then once. After meeting him I felt so much better. Enormously thorough, punctual and most importantly did everything he said he would for the price he... quoted me. Walking into court with the right lawyer changes everything.

I was the victim of a crime and wanted some guidance. He suggested I needed more. He promised to do all the talking with cops & the prosecutor and to show up at the trial (to the tune of a few thousand dollars Instead of the few hundred I expected for advice). Instead, after one conversation with the... prosecutor (who told him what I'd already been told and had already shared with Matt), Matt told me to feel free to talk to the prosecutor. For a year, I spoke to the cops & prosecutor, checking up on them and seeing where things stood. I went to the grand jury alone because Matt was nowhere to be found. When I was told by the prosecutor to consult with Matt before testifying, it took numerous calls and texts to get in touch with Matt. His initial response was that it had taken a long time to get to trial. One would think he would've known how long it was taking, but I guess that was too much to expect from Matt. In any case, after a short conversation, he said he'd look into something and get right back to me. More than a week later and another round of calls and texts, including one that asked if he was still my lawyer, he finally responded. His advice was lame. Pathetic, actually. What he didn't know was that I had already consulted with another lawyer and received excellent advice. I didn't tell him how bad I thought it was (bad according to not just me but three lawyers I know whom I didn't want to hire because we have personal relationships). Still, Matt hung up on me. How very professional of him. It seems he didn't like that I questioned if he felt he'd earned his money. He said he doesn't care about money but never gives it back. He certainly cares more about money than he did about this client.
