I have only the best things to say about my experience with Daniel Flanzig. Before the pandemic, I was injured in a bike accident while on a trip to NYC. In the months that followed, I had to have major surgery and navigate dozens of different medical billing systems from all these different places—i...n NY and in my home state. I was overwhelmed and intimidated and feeling a bit lost. Being a full time mom, the accident disrupted my entire world, and I didn’t know how we would cover all the costs of my injury. Lots of people warned me that getting into a lawsuit would completely take over my life, but I truly did not know what else to do. I did a quick search and reached out to a few different lawyers to see if we had a case. One of the offices I reached out to was Flanzig & Flanzig. Dan and his staff was instrumental in getting a fair settlement after a long delayed process held up by an unresponsive and uncooperative insurance company. Dan was always available to answer any questions before, during and after the process. There was never a delay on getting an accurate response f...rom Dan. Dan’s extensive knowledge of cycling and cycling related crashes helps move the process along. There’s no way anyone can navigate this process without prior knowledge and plenty of experience. I’d like to also point out that Flanzig and Flanzig supports, contributes and gives back to the local cycling community in many ways. Along with sponsoring local USA Cycling races at Randalls Island, the Kissena Velodrome and the 5Boro Bike Tour, Flanzig and Flanzig supports LBS and local clubs. I thought I would receive nothing in compensation for my injuries but Mr. Flanzig proved otherwise. While riding my bike a car suddenly took a turn in front of me. In order to avoid hitting the front of the car and then going up and over the windshield I desperately jammed on the brakes. The fro...nt wheel locked up and I flipped over, landing with full force on my elbow. Fortunately, the car stopped just short of impact. My elbow had eight fractures, and I had other, lesser, injuries. I had to have emergency surgery to install a plate and pins. Three days in the hospital. Mr. Flanzing advised that this case would would be difficult because the driver hadn't actually hit me but was confident the suit would be successful. He gave advice on the No Fault claim process. He ushered me through the deposition. Later, he filed for a summary judgement, which was unsuccessful. We then went to mediation and the lawsuit was settled. I feel the settlement amount was perfectly aligned with the extent of the injuries and my permanent pain and mobility limitations. This whole process took only a year and a half. Mr. Flanzig and his staff were always available and responded to all my queries quite quickly. He always gave me updates on the progress and how the system works.
