I got hit by a car that was turning right from the left lane, while riding my bicycle, in Brooklyn. Would've been dead or paralyzed if it wasn't for my helmet. I thought I would receive nothing in compensation for my injuries but Mr. Flanzig proved otherwise. While riding my bike a car suddenly took a turn in front of me. In order to avoid hitting the front of the car and then going up and over the windshield I desperately jammed on the brakes. The fro...nt wheel locked up and I flipped over, landing with full force on my elbow. Fortunately, the car stopped just short of impact. My elbow had eight fractures, and I had other, lesser, injuries. I had to have emergency surgery to install a plate and pins. Three days in the hospital. Mr. Flanzing advised that this case would would be difficult because the driver hadn't actually hit me but was confident the suit would be successful. He gave advice on the No Fault claim process. He ushered me through the deposition. Later, he filed for a summary judgement, which was unsuccessful. We then went to mediation and the lawsuit was settled. I feel the settlement amount was perfectly aligned with the extent of the injuries and my permanent pain and mobility limitations. This whole process took only a year and a half. Mr. Flanzig and his staff were always available and responded to all my queries quite quickly. He always gave me updates on the progress and how the system works.
