If you have been in a bike accident, you should call Daniel Flanzig.

A couple of years ago, I was involved in an accident while biking to work. The driver of a vehicle parked on the side of the road didn't check his mirrors before opening his door, and so when he swung the door open, it struck me and knocked me into another vehicle on the road. I fractured my hand and... eventually needed to have surgery. At the time of the accident, I did what anyone in that situation should do: I gathered information, found witnesses, snapped some photos of the scene of the accident, got a police report, and made sure to go to the hospital in an ambulance just in case I had unknowingly injured my neck, head, or back. However, I still needed to find a good lawyer to make sure that my (extensive) bills and other costs would be covered, because I have never battled an insurance company before and worried that they would try to avoid fault. I researched and spoke with multiple lawyers and decided to go with Daniel Flanzig. He understands the law inside and out and is a cyclist himself. After speaking with him, I felt like I could rest my fears about the situation and trust him to navigate me through the legal labyrinth of my case. The driver's car insurance, unsurprisingly, put up a fight and we went through a lot of BS for the next two years. Daniel and his team were always on top of everything - from my bills, court dates, prepping me for depositions, regularly updating me about what was happening, and more. The experience was nerve-wracking, but Daniel and his team instilled a sense of confidence and security in me that all was being taken care of. I'm happy to report that the case settled in my favor. If you are reading this, you have probably been in an accident or know someone who has, and you are probably trying to decide who to choose among the hundreds of lawyers out there. Do your research, but rest assured that you cannot go wrong with Daniel Flanzig and his team. They will work hard for you and take care of your situation just like they did for me. While I hope that I will not experience another accident, I know that if I do, I'll go back to Daniel without hesitation.

The Best

If you have been in a bike accident, don't try to navigate the labyrinthine NYS no-fault system by yourself. You need the high quality, responsive, transparent representation that Dan and Cathy Flanzig provide. In August of 2012 I was doored by a livery cab. I was severely injured, and had to be t...aken from the scene by an ambulance. The cab driver didn't didn't stay to talk to police. No police report was filed. After I was discharged, I had about $10,000 of medical bills, and I had to investigate this situation on my own. Since there is no official language for being doored, what I wound up interacting with is an entire bureaucracy centralized around motor vehicle to motor vehicle accidents. Every form you submit, and every person you interact with perceives your situation this way. Everything has to be altered to suit a bicycle/car accident. It was a nightmare, and without knowing my options, I tried to do it myself, and I did it wrong. I was denied no fault coverage on this basis and found myself a month into my post-accident life without medical treatment. I reached out to several other firms for help only to have them have no interest in helping me. By chance, I read an article on Gothamist about the proliferation of firms dedicated to cyclists' rights and found Flanzig and Flanzig. I wrote an angry, emotional email describing my situation at about 8pm, and before 9pm I was talking to Daniel, and about my options. It is amazing that they took me on in the first place knowing that there would be several months of paperwork involved with circumventing the mess/trap I'd walked into trying to represent myself--BEFORE any sort of settlement could be discussed in the future. That it took months to get this insurance company to even take responsibility for my medical bills is testament to their practice. In the interceding time, Daniel has counseled me every step of the way including helping me find the quality medical treatment I desperately needed, and fought for every bit of my lost wages. I know that without his and Cathy's help and the help of his team my quality of life would be a shadow of what it is today.

Professional and courteous from start to finish

Following my cycling accident I contacted Daniel Flanzig. Being an avid cyclist himself, Dan naturally understood what every cyclist has to factor in while riding the roads. You will not find a more responsive attorney than Daniel - period. What seemed as weak case Daniel took to a successful settlem...ent. I hope to never need a personal injury attorney again, but if I do, Daniel Flanzig is on my speed-dial.
