Russell Scott Moriarty

I had previously retained this attorney for an employment discrimination case. The process was slow but he did manage to secure a small settlement for me. However, when I tried to reach out to this attorney with a couple of additional discrimination cases he ignored my messages and I ended up just ha...ving to communicate with his receptionist and other staff. I understand that I am being treated in this way mainly due to my socio-economic status, but if he was no longer interested in working with me he should have had the professional courtesy to at least tell me that directly instead of just ignoring my messages. No client deserves to be treated in this way even if they are struggling and happen to be disadvantaged. Long story short I am going to be taking my business elsewhere.

My experience with Russell Moriarty can be summarized as: Poor communications, expensive, slow progress, eventually had to start over with another lawyer. To be fair, we did win a court judgement in my favor by default (the defendant did not show) and Russell was able to work the law to receive ...more than I expected. But only on paper. 7+ years later, I have not received any actual money. I also expressed from the beginning that I really wanted to understand my options, the process, and be reassured that things were progressing. My experience with Russell Moriarty was the exact opposite. I never knew what was next steps were nor roughly how long it would take, even after asking repeatedly. Over the course of 4-years, it felt like nothing ratcheted forward unless I emailed him about progress. In the end, I retained a New Jersey lawyer who emailed me monthly with updates and performed every single process that could be done, completed within 1 year.

Russell worked hard to protect my rights and went beyond what he needed to as my lawyer. He came to meetings he didn't need to be present for and was supportive when things looked bleak. Russell was always up front with me. He explained the process and educated me thoroughly on what I could and... shouldn't expect. He made time to speak with me and my husband so we both understood what was going on. Russell is excellent at what he does and I was lucky to find such a mensch (person with with integrity and honor) of a lawyer.
