I had a really bad experience with Adriana, she acts as if she is on your side, has your best interest blah blah blah, and if this the first lawyer you are dealing with like I was, and you are not informed on what legal practices look like, she will take advantage of you. She never offers a contract,... she asks for cash and never gives receipts, everything is done based on her word which means that she can drop you at any point no matter how much money you have given her, because there is no contract in place that she is representing you, she also doesn't give you any receipts for cash payments, so if you are in a vulnerable place, and just trusting her word when she tells you she is taking your case and you are in good hands and you are taking her word that she is there to help you and giving her a lot of money while that's happening in cash with no receipts and no contract in place, like I was, she WILL take advantage of you, she kept over $2000 from me for a case she never filed, I paid in cash as per her request, she lied about how much money I had given her, she had never given me any receipts for my cash payments, and there was no contract in place so this way of legal practice that she is doing gives her every right to drop you at any point and take your money whether the case is filed or not, and gives you no rights whatsoever. Even when I fired her, she was unprofessional, she delayed me picking up my files, and she just decided to keep an entire part of the file. When I showed up at her office in her desired date to pick up my file ,she still kept parts of the file, even though I kept asking her is this everything multiple times, she kept saying yes everything is in there, but she kept a part of the file that has someones entire private information, taxes, pay stubs, passport photos, drivers license etc ,and now she refuses to mail me that file, this is against the law. I would say find someone who is legit and someone with whom you are signing a contract that they are representing you, and that payments are made in check, and you get receipts for them etc, even if you don't have experience and feel intimidated by the legal world, go to a few different lawyers, and you will find lawyers who are legitimate and are practicing in a legitimate way.
