Renato Christian Stabile

Renato Stabile has worked with Gerald Lefcourt since 1999 and has more than 15 years of legal experience, focusing on criminal defense at the trial and appellate level in federal and state court. Mr. Stabile represents individuals and corporations investigated or prosecuted by the government in a variety of matters, including securities litigation, mail and wire offenses, money laundering, RICO, and political corruption, as well as more traditional criminal matters such as assault, narcotics offenses, and various NYC quality of life crimes and violations. He has successfully litigated direct appeals before the United States Court of Appeals and the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, has handled habeas corpus petitions and appeals and other special proceedings, and has been involved in both state and federal trials from inception to verdict.

Notable trials in which he has been involved include successfully representing hip-hop mogul Irv Gotti on federal money laundering charges, representing the campaign treasurer of New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate John Liu, and the acquittal of Kerry Kennedy in Westchester County.

A native New Yorker, Mr. Stabile is a 1993 graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton (B.S. Biology) and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (J.D. 1997), where he was a member of the Innocence Project. He is admitted to practice law in New York, Connecticut, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
