Stephanie O'Connor

I had Stephanie O'Connor as my personal injury attorney at Jacoby and Meyers before she transferred to another firm. Steph was very knowledgeable in terms of working a file and taking even the slightest material and putting it towards your advantage. For example, a medical report which allegedly show...ed no injuries, in her opinion was evidence of some injuries (which is sort of good lawyering, in terms of spinning reports to help clients). However, the fact that she would recommed someone to write a report that shows no injuries in the first place may be a lack of due diligence in terms of finding a better person to write a better report more explicitly stating injuries. She is knowledgeable but also gives generic, evasive answers to questions, stating things like "don't worry, we expect settlement discussions to end by the summer which is misleading and sort of not true. Also, telling your client your suing for say 5 million when in reality, she may know (based on the existing evidence in the file) the case will settle for a lot less is lawyering your client a touch too much. Compared to the other attorneys at Jacoby and Meyers, I would say this is the typical attorney, average behavoir. May be worth while looking someplace esle.
