Having to hire an attorney for anything im sure can be a daunting experience. I was new to this and had an unfortunate situation that brought me to Brittany. We contacted Brittany regarding a complex situation with a former employer. We needed someone to help advise us as to the best path forward, and to point out any risks and pitfalls that we might not have accounted for. She had a negative attitude from the moment of first contact, before we even had a... chance to speak, asking us how we got her number in a tone that sounded like she was angry and suspicious about the call. When we mentioned Avvo, her tone lightened momentarily, but as we began to explain the complexity of the situation she resumed the angry/suspicious tone, and interrupted and talked over us in a brusque manner to steer the conversation well away from the purpose of our call. She then cut the call short and asked us to send an email, which we did, and she responded by asking what we are looking for in the interaction (which had been delineated clearly in the email). When we responded and explained again, she never responded back. In every way, this was a very unprofessional and uncomfortable interaction. We had spent a lot of time looking at reviews on Avvo before choosing someone we thought could help us, so we were surprised to be treated this way as it did not match our expectations based on the other reviews on this site. I am not sure why she treated us in this manner, but I would be wary of contacting her unless you have a very simple case that does not require explanation, and you don't mind being handled aggressively and dismissively.
