Mr fishman was recommended to me by another lawyer on avvo. After writing to him regarding my issue I was contacted by his legal aide who set up a phone consult. I paid $395 for 1 hr consult and Mr fishman told me he could not assist me. He did give me good information but it wasn't anything that I d...idn't know. I feel he should've denied my business before taking my hard earned money.

I recently had the pleasure of utilizing the services of Mr. James Fishman and staff. My landlord, who has been trying to evict me for years, served papers on me right before my birthday and a vacation. I reached out to Mr. Fishman because I had a consultation with him months ago and he advised me ...as to what I should do in the event the papers came. OMG, Mr. Fishman and staff were right on top on things. They kept me up to date of the status of my impending case as things changed. This mean sometimes they reached out to me at least 3 or 4 times during the day. This constant communication reassured me that I had my fate in competent hands. Mr. Fishman not only educate me on some of the case studies he introduced to the landlord's lawyer but I think it's possible the lawyers received a little education too. My case was resolved without me even having to go to court. I could not thank him enough for his services. I hope I do not have to go through this again but if I do, I will definitely call Mr. Fishman again. I highly recommend him and his staff, you will not go wrong. James Fishman came highly recommended to me by a friend who had a wonderful, successful experience with him in a case against the same landlord (who was trying to rid the building of rent stabilized tenants). I will not go into the details of the case, but I will say that everyone in his office was top notch – especially Reuben Fuller-Bennett. They both kept me informed every step of the way. They determined which supporting documentation I needed to obtain, and they worked with me to figure out next steps as to how to obtain it. Once it was all gathered, they sent a letter with hundreds of pages of the supporting documents. We did not receive a response for weeks, but I was assured by James and Reuben that this was just the easiest first step and not to worry. Sure enough – a few weeks later I received an email from James with the words “Good News” in the subject line. The landlord would be sending me a renewal lease. Thankfully we did not have to go to trial, but I know if we had that it would have been successful because of James and his team. Suffice it to say that James Fishman came highly recommended to me, and I now know why from my own firsthand experience. I will highly recommend him to those I know, and I highly recommend him to all reading this.
