David and his team were amazing through every step of the way. I really can't thank them enough. I had never been in trouble like this before and I was completely terrified. Luckily, I was referred to David through a friend of mine. David explained everything I needed to know in a way I could under...stand. He even got on multiple conference calls with my family and I to answer questions and talk about the path we were going to take. He went above and beyond, he treated me like an equal, and he actually cared about me and what was happening to me. He was not only concerned about my case but he was also concerned about my addiction problems in general. He helped me get the help I needed and I'm happy to say that its working! I have been drug free for 2 years now. I can honestly say that if it wasn't for David I would have had a much different outcome. David is very well connected and knew everyone in the courtroom. He seemed to have a good rapport with everyone he interacted with as well which only made things more comfortable for me. He is a great person and cares about his job. In the end, I did not have to go to jail. Instead, David got me into a rehab program and I will forever be grateful because now I have my life back. When we were looking for a lawyer we were under extreme stress because we wanted to hire the best one to represent our son so we searched google and really didn't know how to pick the right one out. Some charged less and others charged more but thankfully my retired psychologist friend had experience... in hiring a lawyer and told us to interview them and to follow our intuition and our son's intuition. Based on a recommendation by someone our son knew from a spiritual/support group he belonged to, he interviewed David J. Cohen and there was an instant rapport. He was caring, understanding, patient, timely, efficient and communicated well. He has upwards of twenty five years experience defending clients so he was familiar with numerous federal prosecutors and judges. He taught law at a local Long Island community college which told us he believes in what he does. Based on all this we hired David and when our son was assigned a conservative judge we watched him take a personal interest in our son to get to know him (one of his greatest traits) and build a case that lead to an unprecedentedly low sentence, numerous years (~10 - 12) shorter than what other people in the past received with similar charges and circumstances. We were extremely pleased with David's service and we highly recommend him to anyone needing a criminal defense.

After being arrested on a completely bogus charge, and having had never had any legal issues before, I looked for a firm to represent me and get me out of a situation that felt completely surreal and unfair. I called several firms, read some reviews, and after chatting on the phone with David Cohen ...I knew I had found the right attorney and the right firm. David and his team were true consummate professionals. I met David at his offices, he went over my case very clearly and thouroughly, laid out our course of action, and explained all the various possibilities. David met me at the courthouse for my first appearance, stood by me, and after went to work on getting my charges dismissed (an additional charge had been added during the first appearance). By the time of my second court appearance, David had worked out an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal (ACD), and had one of his long time associates, Ben Simpson, meet at the court to see the ACD through. Just like David, Ben was a complete professional, he was waiting for me at the court house, went over everything with me before the appearance, got the ACD, and after the short appearance went over everything again, and followed up with an email later that day. I cannot recommend David Cohen and the Cohen Forman Barone firm enough, hire them and you will not be disappointed.

I never expected to be caught up in the criminal system. However, I found myself involved in a situation that I needed legal advice. I quickly realized that I didn’t understand the system, or any of the procedures. I interviewed several attorneys to assist me with my case, but I ultimately picked Da...vid Cohen. David asked questions and offered solutions that the other attorneys had not. He looked closely at the individuals and personalities involved in the case, not just at the criminal charges.
