Omid S. Irani

Omid S. Irani is an accomplished criminal defense attorney with extensive experience navigating every stage of the criminal justice process, from investigation and arrest through trial. He skillfully represents clients in New Jersey’s Municipal, Superior, and Appellate Courts, as well as in New York State, in cases involving sex crimes, narcotics, firearms, assault and theft. Mr. Irani is also highly experienced in domestic violence matters, having successfully represented numerous clients at Final Restraining Order (FRO) hearings.

Before entering private practice, Mr. Irani served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sohail Mohammed, P.J.Cr., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic Vicinage. His clerkship provided him with invaluable insight into the judicial decision-making process and effective courtroom advocacy.

Mr. Irani is an active leader in the legal community and currently serves as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Bergen County Bar Association. He co-chairs multiple committees and frequently lectures at continuing legal education seminars. He is also the Chairman of the Iranian American Bar Association Foundation and previously served on the Executive Board of the Iranian American Bar Association.

A graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, Mr. Irani earned his Juris Doctor while serving as a published member of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal. He remains actively involved with his alma mater through the G.O.L.D. alumni committee, which promotes engagement and mentorship among recent graduates. He also holds a B.A. in Political Science, with minors in History and Middle Eastern Studies—becoming the first student in Seton Hall’s history to complete this academic combination.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Irani holds various appointed roles in local government and is deeply involved in charitable, civic, and community initiatives. He volunteers annually as a judge for the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition and the Princeton University Moot Court Competition.

Mr. Irani is fluent in Persian (Farsi).
