Unethical and Neglectful - AVOID at all costs

Writing this review to warn anyone considering to look elsewhere. My experience with her was nothing short of a nightmare, characterized by a shocking disregard for ethical conduct and complete neglect of my case. From the outset, communication was abysmal. Calls, emails and even meetings were blo...wn off or went unanswered for weeks, sometimes even months, leaving me in the dark and incredibly anxious about the progress of my legal matter. It felt as though once I had paid the retainer, I ceased to exist as a client. My repeated attempts to get updates or even just a simple acknowledgement were met with radio silence or, on the rare occasion, dismissive and unhelpful responses. She has no support staff. What truly infuriated me, however, were the blatant ethical breaches. She appeared to prioritize her own convenience over my legal interests. She's a big talker - no follow through. I suspect conflicts of interest may have been at play, as decisions were made that directly undermined my position without my consent or even proper explanation. Furthermore, there were instances where I felt information I provided was mishandled or not acted upon, potentially jeopardizing my case. It felt like a betrayal of the trust I had placed in her as my legal counsel. Ultimately, the outcome of my case was severely impacted by her negligence and lack of commitment. I was left feeling unheard, unprotected, and completely let down by someone who was supposed to be advocating for me. This wasn't just poor service; it was a fundamental violation of the professional obligations an attorney owes to their client. If you value communication, ethical representation, and someone who will actually fight for your rights, Kaylin Whittingham at Whittingham Law is NOT the firm for you. Save your money, your time, and your sanity.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
