Exploitative Management, Deficient Supervision, and Hostile Case Mishandling

NEGATIVE STARS My direct experience with Kreindler & Kreindler LLP on a sensitive 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) claim exposed a hostile and adversarial culture where client rights are entirely discarded. Managing Partner Noah H. Kushlefsky, practicing in New York since 1987, has fostered an... insulated, unaccountable environment that operates to protect the firm’s staff at the absolute expense of the clients who fund them. The representation was an absolute disaster. The assigned case manager was completely unresponsive, missing meetings and ignoring a detailed written record of case stagnation. When I directly addressed these ongoing case failures with Kushlefsky, his response demonstrated a total lack of empathy, operating with an autocratic, rigid, and completely tone-deaf management style. He explicitly stated that because his employees have been with him a long time, he accepts their statements as absolute truth without conducting any due process, internal investigation, or objective review of the facts. This is not running a professional law firm; it is operating an unequal system that completely violates his fiduciary responsibilities to the client. Kushlefsky operates from a completely dismissive ivory tower, systematically invalidating clients at every single turn. He completely insulates himself from direct contact, providing zero personal efficacy, zero accessibility, and zero basic ethics. Instead of providing the highly skilled legal care required for sensitive, high-value VCF claims, he allows unvouched individuals—people who are not even fit to fold towels in a laundromat—to handle and manipulate critical legal files. He blindly rubber-stamps everything his staff does, refusing to look at objective evidence. This total lack of scrutiny exists for one reason only: to keep the administrative assembly line moving so the firm can extort their financial commission from vulnerable individuals who actually went through the Ground Zero trauma by losing loved ones and also becoming injured by trying to help survivors. This is not management; this is a complete moral abdication of a lawyer's sacred oath and a parasitic exploitation of human suffering. Rather than exercising real professional oversight, Kushlefsky acts purely as a middleman to secure a financial commission while providing zero human support or advocacy. The culmination of this experience was an immediate, reactionary letter from Kushlefsky terminating my representation simply because I demanded basic accountability. This firm behaves like an exploitative operation—eager to collect fees on a high-value VCF claim, yet completely hostile the moment a client asks for transparency. If you want a firm that treats you with basic dignity and true legal advocacy, instead of an autocratic, defensive hierarchy that backs over its own clients, avoid Kushlefsky and this firm completely

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
