There are few things in life more frightening than being arrested. And yet, on one cold Sunday morning that is exactly what happened to me! I was awoken by a loud rapping at my door. There stood three plainclothes policemen who greeted me with their badges and “suggested” that I accompany them to their precinct for questioning. The next thing I knew I was in handcuffs being hauled downtown to a holding cell where I would stay, awaiting my arraignment before a judge. In October of 2012 I was pulled over by the NYPD and charged with an Aggravated DWI in New York City. I refused the breath test and took the case to trial.
