Biography
I am a New York contracts, transactions, and litigation lawyer since 1979. After gaining extensive experience as an associate with several law firms, I formed the Law Offices of Michael W. Goldstein in 1985. I remain dedicated to providing high quality representation to business and individual clients in commercial law, business contracts, commercial leases, real estate transactions, commercial litigation, real estate litigation, mechanic's lien litigation, partition actions, down payment litigation, actions for specific performance of real estate contracts, etc.
My business and economics background, including a college major in economics & accounting, add to my unique ability to negotiate and draft contracts, and to litigate breach of contract actions, default on promissory notes, and other commercial disputes.
I am equally comfortable in negotiating settlements with opposing counsel, as well as representing clients in commercial litigation, real estate litigation, Alternate Dispute Resolution ("ADR"), including mediation and arbitration.

Down Payment Litigation
Several months after commencing litigation, I recovered 100% of my client's down payment in excess of $200,000 plus additional monetary damages.
Action for Specific Performance of a Real Estate Contract
The lawsuit was discontinued and the notice of pendency was vacated, thereby permitting my client to sell the house to another buyer.
