Phenomenal

Mrs Barbara came through big come interview time. She made our interview way easier than we expected, she was organized and made the process soo much easier. Special thanks to Lucy, her assistant, she helped us out soo much.

Highly recommend

I met Barbara a few years ago. I was at my wits end and desperately needed the services of a great immigration lawyer. Even though my case was a difficult one which no one else would take she decided she would try. It took a while, but somehow she found some obscure law that made it possible for me t...o receive my green card. Today I am so thankful. It might have been a bit expensive but it was totally worth it. This has changed my life forever. Thank you Barbara

100% Recommend

After having several mediocre lawyers throughout the years, I began to lose all hope that one day I will become a permanent residence. However, Barbara J. Brandes was the only lawyer who made it possible. From the moment she took my case, I knew I was in good hands. She goes above and beyond to make ...sure she has sufficient and correct evidence or information necessary. She is clear and uses her years of experience to help her clients. I will forever be thankful to have found such an amazing lawyer and will continue to recommend her to anyone that needs help. Thank you!

Client

Thanks sharing. My case was hopeless and I had contacted several attorneys before a colleague introduced me to Barbara. Luckily she accepted my case. She asked very many questions and accepted to take over. The rest is history and I thank Barbara for her help.

Wonderful experience!

Our experience with Barbara was wonderful. Just to tell you a bit about our case, I am a US citizen and I met my wife (then girlfriend) when she was on deportation proceeding with the immigration services. Despite her immigration status, we got married because we love each other, and I believe that l...ove should transcend immigration considerations. My wife’s situation was even more complicated since she was ordered to move out of the country 5 years prior to our meeting. In other words, she never followed the judge’s decision to leave the country. Indeed, she was not even aware of such a decision since she had not received the letter from the immigration judge, nor did her then attorney notify her of such a decision. Her former attorney, who I consider a crook, did not file the appropriate paperwork on her behalf despite the fact he was paid in full to do so. He kept telling my wife that her case was still on, and that it takes time. My wife found that she was deportation proceedings when she was tipped off by one the guards at the immigration office where she had an appointment. He told her that she might be arrested if she goes in. In my wife’s mind, it was a routine appointment for her case. All I can say is my that wife was in a difficult situation. Her chances to reverse the judge’s decision were close to none. As a result, we decided to get help with a good attorney. A cousin of hers referred her to Barbara who had worked with him in the past. Barbara was straightforward with us telling us how complicated was our case, and that the whole process to reverse the deportation and change my wife’s status would take time and a lot of effort. She went along to lay out her strategy, and expressed her confidence on it. The first step was to file e a motion to reopen the case, then an inadmissibility waiver before filing for an adjustment of status. The first phase was the most critical of all, but she was able to present our case and rally the immigration office around the case in order to convince the Appeal Board to reopen the case. Getting the immigration office to join in to reopen the case in itself is hard to achieve, especially nowadays, but she was able to do it with her connections. The second phase of filing an inadmissibility waiver was no less challenging either; but she was able to present a case that convinced Immigration. Finally, my wife got her status adjusted to become a permanent resident. You cannot imagine our joy and relief when we received the approval letter. What we really like about working with Barbara and her team, especially Amanda whose help was critical, is their rigorous and meticulous approach to the case. They did not leave any detail to chance, which to us is a sign of a serious attorney. We also enjoyed their responsiveness to our phone calls or emails. They always returned phone calls, and reply to emails in less than 24 hours. I also really commend them for punctuality. They have never missed nor showed late to any of the appointments we had despite the fact they had leave New York to come to Philadelphia where the appointments took place. They communicated to us there expectations and strategies as clearly as possible. They broke down the payments systematically with a ledger, which makes it affordable and predictable. We knew a head of time how much each step would cost, and planned accordingly. I would say that their service was not cheap for us but we know that they were fair based on the case we had, and the quality of their work. I would say that it was money well spent for us. I would strongly recommend Barbara’s services to anyone who need help. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"Barbara J. Brandes is one of the top immigration lawyers in New York City if not the entire country. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is active in the community. She volunteers for numerous pro-immigrant groups providing free consultations and legal advice to those who cannot afford to pay for a lawyer. She practices all areas of immigration law and is known and respected as an expert in the field. In my 5 years working with her, she took on numerous difficult and complex cases and won countless cases using her advanced experience in the field, unique, advanced, and creative legal arguments, and her never-take-no-for-an-answer attitude. No immigration lawyer will fight harder for a client than Barbara, and no lawyer will "give it to you straight" the way Barbara will; never giving a potential or current client false hope but always basing her theory and predicted success rate of the case in her experience and also reality."
