Andrew Lavoott Bluestone is Board Certified in Legal Malpractice has been awarded diplomate status by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys.  This Board is organized and recognized by the American Bar Association and has met the rigid tests imposed by them. 

Andrew Lavoott Bluestone is an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. John's University College of Law.

According to the American Bar Association, "a lawyer who is a certified specialist has been recognized by an independent profefessional certifiying organization as having an enhanced level of skill and expertise, as well as a substantial involvement in an established legal sepciaity.  These organizations require a lawyer to demonstrate special training, experience and knowledge to insure that the lawyer's recognition as a certified specialist is meaningful and reliable."

According to DR 2-105, and now the revised Rules of Professional Conduct , Rule 7.4  "certification is not a requirement for the practice of law in the State of New York  and does not necessarily indicate greater competence than other attorneys experienced in this field of law.  The American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys is a private organization and not affiliated with any governmental authority."
