Wonderful experience with Joyce

Joyce was referred to us by a friend and we worked with her on the purchase of a condo in Bed-Stuy (Brooklyn). She brought the warmth of a personal touch to the process, which my partner and I welcomed as first-time home-buyers. She guided us with her experience, offering thoughtful suggestions that ...helped us out along the way, including suggesting which banks to consider to secure the best rates. Throughout the process, Joyce was timely, communicative, and professional. We would highly recommend working with her. Thank you Joyce!

She has decades of experience as a real estate attorney and that was clear from our first meeting we had with her.

We had a pleasant experience working with Joyce. She has decades of experience as a real estate attorney and that was clear from our first meeting we had with her. She is very patient and spent time breaking down the intricacies, terms and legal jargon of the multiple contracts and documents that wer...e being sent our way. We appreciate her careful attention to detail. She is a fervent advocate for her clients. When we had any questions or doubts about something, she was persistent and tracked down the answers. She is communicative and responds promptly. We knew our home purchase was in good hands when we chose her to be our attorney.

She fights for you

It was my first time buying a co-op in NYC, and Joyce was recommended to me, by my buying agent. They sent me a list with 4 recommendations, I quoted the four of them, and I decided to go with Joyce for the reason that she seemed to be the one with the best personal touch. When you're doing this type... of transaction, you want to talk to people who will talk back to you as if it's a human-to-human interaction... You don't want big offices where they're going to treat your case just as another case. The very first meeting with Joyce was very pleasant at the backyard of her office in Brooklyn (with the proper social distancing required during this pandemic), and she took the time to explain all the steps in the process. I also mentioned that my dad was a lawyer in another country, and that he might have questions, and she made herself fully available to set up a meeting with him to clear any of his questions of the process. In the end it was not necessary, but I definitely appreciated her availability. Joyce will be on top of your case... When we're anxious over such a long and complex process, we want to know where things stand, and it's normal to nudge everybody in the process, specially your attorney (and your lender). I nudged Joyce a few times for some follow up when I felt things were moving slow, and she was always very responsive and I always felt at easy. At the very end of my 3 1/2-month process, my lender was becoming a bit irresponsive, and things got a little fuzzy... I couldn't deal with them lightly anymore, and Joyce stood up for me. She fought for me with my lender, and we eventually got the clearance we needed, at the time that we had agreed on. Unfortunately the process didn't close on that date because of the seller's side, but I was completely satisfied with the transparency Joyce provided all throughout the process. Lastly, on the very day of closing, there was some issue that the lender had detected (after they had been sitting on the documentation for a couple of weeks), and Joyce thought it might delay the closing, but she worked with her providers to get the rectifications needed ASAP, and it worked perfectly. The process ended up closing 2 weeks delayed because we didn't have a document needed from the seller's side. Overall, she has the knowledge, she has the experience, and for being such a nice person, a nice human, I really felt the trust in this as if this was my father conducting this process for me. I would definitely hire her again if I need to go on another transaction like this. (And as a word of advice regarding the whole buying process in NYC, just sit back and relax because things take time)

A pleasure to work with

Highly recommended. This was our first time buying, and she walked us through all the steps and made sure everything that needed to be coordinated was coordinated. Thanks to extensive lender delays and a poorly-timed blizzard, our closing process was not the simplest, but Joyce was incredibly hel...pful and easy to work with throughout. When a delayed FedEx package nearly derailed our closing at the last minute, she worked with the transfer agent and bank to make sure we could make things works anyway.

Most of all, I trust their judgement and know that I can rely on their guidance.
