I reached out to Bikram because of some troubles around bad roommates far behind on rent (cliche NY tale). He called me shortly after and immediately set up a meeting with me that afternoon for a consultation. He gave me a clear and concise game plan of what I could do for myself and I was able to ac...tually negotiate with my landlord myself due to his advice. It's important to note that he didn't push to get me to put down a retainer and start billing for things I didn't need. He put my needs above everything and that's something that is hard to come by. Considering I was coming from a situation where others had deceived me and cost me a great deal of money; dealing with Bikram was a very welcomed breath of fresh air and someone who you can trust to give you the help you need.

Carlos Hernandez - Mr. Singh represented my wife and I in a landlord tenant case where the landlord was trying to regain possession of my rent-stabilized apartment based on personal use. The landlord also failed to offer any lease renewals since 1997. I filed a complaint with the DHCR, but the compla...int was dismissed and the DHCR gave the landlord the “green light” to move forward with the eviction. As soon as I received the eviction papers, I retained Mr. Singh’s services. He examined my case and noticed several material defects in the landlord’s case. He immediately filed a motion to dismiss and the case was dismissed. The Court correctly stated in a long decision that DHCR was incorrect in its application of the law. My partner and I were involved in a tenant / landlord litigation concerning our rent stabilized apartment and a legal sublet. Although we had been completely upfront and transparent with building management following all of their guidelines they attempted to use our sublet request as a way to break o...ur rent stabilized lease. The prewar building is undergoing major changes as the new owners are breaking as many rent stabilized leases as they can to bring the apartments up to market rate. They are harassing long standing tenants, adopting deceitful, heavy handed and, at times, illegal tactics in order to remove them. They know that most rent stabilized tenants, like ourselves, don’t have the money and resources to fight back. After a year of meeting with various city agencies and trying to fight the building’s legal team ourselves we were referred by the New York Bar Association to Bikram Singh. They said that he has an amazing record and that if anybody would be able to help us it would be him. You can’t image the sense of relief after our first meeting. He read through our case and said he would take it. As we signed the retainer I asked him, “So now what do we need to do?” He said, “Nothing. Relax. We’ll take care of this.” And they did. Helpful, empathetic and with such integrity. He and his partner Reena Rani really went above and beyond to take care of us. They honestly put our best interest before anything else.
