Exceptional Lawyer

Headline: Excelent, inteligent lawyer Mark was a great lawyer for me in my case.I was charged with a felony charge and 2 misdemenors. He is there for his clients 24/7 litteraly he was available to answer all questions regarding the case. He is caring and compassionate. This was a first offense f...or me, i decided to call mark because his experince greatly exceeded any attorney ive researched. he truly cares for his clients and hes not afraid to show it. This was my first offense. When i first went to his office i was scared and confused but right after i left i felt like the world was lifted from my shoulders. He is not only my lawyer but a new friend he has always welcomed me to come in to his office or meet somewhere closer when transportation was an issue. Also he was more than reasonable with the price. Needless to say he got my criminal charge charge and a disorderly persons offense DISMISSED, he even downgraded the remaining disorderly persons offense to a petty disorderly persons offense. That to me is amazing and i know from seeing other lawyer's performance in court room that Mark has the know how

Exceptional Customer Service

I rarely write letters of recommendation for businesses or services I use. Not because my standards are unreachable or that I feel I get great results from most. In the case of Mark H. Jaffe, Attorney at Law, I am compelled to do just that. I engaged Mr. Jaffe for legal assistance with a traffic v...iolation in which I felt was excessive relative to the actual event. From the onset, Mr. Jaffe made himself immediately available (I believe it was on a Saturday afternoon). Over the ensuing few days, Mr. Jaffe not only made the arrangements for my case but spent a considerable amount of time reviewing my options and educating me on aspects of the laws applicable in my case. My “day in court” went without a hitch and Mr. Jaffe delivered on what he promised including a reasonable cost. I was extremely satisfied with his expertise, the respect he carried with the local officials and the efficiency with which he resolved the issues. I was a satisfied customer but it doesn’t end there. A few months later, I needed to confirm the outcome of my case and ask several questions regarding the final decision for other purposes. Mr. Jaffe responded immediately, spent time on the telephone with me and resolved all questions and issues I had. This is Customer Service! I am appreciative to Mr. Jaffe for his dedication and expert counsel. While I hope never to need his services again, I am comfortable in knowing that someone of his high level of service and reliability is there to call on, literally at any time.

Mark's devotion to his clients is admirable

Dear Mark, Let me first start by saying thank you for representing me today. When I first received the summons to appear in court I was so depressed and scared and willing to accept a guilty plea. However, when I received your letter amongst 6 other ones yours stood out because it was personalize...d. That alone told me that you wanted to help me not like the other computer generated letters from other firms. Your eagerness to help and dedication to your profession is impressive. I hate to say I sat on those letters until 4 days before the court date but again that was the state of mind I was in. When I called you on Monday 8/5 and you said you had court at 11am I just assumed you were not available but then you surprised me and said I will be there for you. Then another surprise was when I emailed you at 11:45 on Tuesday 8/6 and asked to meet and you said come in at 1pm which was right before another court appearance you had. All this and you arrived at my court appearance before anyone else to give me the best representation I could have asked for. I said you had to perform a miracle and I believe you have. The outcome was nothing I thought it was going to be. I assumed I would have paid an arm and leg in fines but with your assistance I walked out with minimum fines and charges dismissed. It was obvious that the persecutor and the judge had the utmost respect for you and I am sure that is why they heard my case first. Mark, you are an asset to the legal system and I would recommend your services to anyone who I know that are in need of legal services. You are truly an inspiration and a selfless man who puts his work before anything else. You Mark are a genuine man and I thank you for your dedication and selflessness. Sincerely, Alisa

Excellent responsive attorney

I recently had a matter in the local municipal court and as I live out of the state, I began a search for an attorney. I researched attorneys in the area to represent me in court as I would be unable to attend the hearing due to logistics. I found Mark Jaffe a defense attorney with over 25 years’ e...xperience (former prosecutor) and skill set to represent me. I called Mark, and within a few minutes he was on the phone with me. I instantly knew that I wanted him to represent me in this matter. I explained the situation and Mark was quick to inform me that he would be happy to represent me. He instilled a sense of confidence in me; he was intelligent, genuine, and honest. He was confident that he would resolve this situation in a favorable manner for me. He told me his no hassle fee for his legal representation and reassured me he could have the summons reduced to a lesser violation with no points. He gave me the exact cost of the lesser violation and what the court cost would be in this situation. He explained what he would need from me to have him represent me. He immediately sent out an affidavit and asked that I return it faxed to his attention along with a note stating why I couldn’t attend court in person (a protocol of the court). He told me to relax; he would handle everything and stay in communication with me. He stressed the value of customer service and explained who his legal staff was, when best to reach him or his staff and gave me the office telephone number, fax number and even his cell number. He stressed the point that I had accessibility to him and/or his staff at any time and not to hesitate to call with any questions. He was right. Any time I called I was taken care of immediately and Mark always followed up with me to make sure I was comfortable. I was, quite frankly, blown away by his customer service, responsiveness, and professionalism. And yes, Mark did resolve my summons to a lesser violation, I received no points and the summons fee and court costs were exactly as he had stated. Mark is an excellent attorney and I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.

Close to miraculous

Initially, you may be surprised by the number of emails and calls that you receive from Mark Jaffe. Then you’ll realize that he seriously cares about your case. You may be unprepared for his passionate delivery. Then you’ll understand that he genuinely wants to stand up for your rights. In... a world where it is so rare to get a person answering their phone that one can mistake a real voice for a recording, and where people are jaded about lawyers and much else, it is something close to miraculous that Mark Jaffe exists: He is a little like a country lawyer in an elite college town. He answers his calls almost every single time (and calls you back quickly if he doesn’t), letting you know that everything is going to be okay and that he is going to help you. When I was disarmed by innocent traffic violations that were put into serious overdrive with charges and tickets, I was upset and worried. Jaffe went into action immediately. I stopped worrying. I could see that Jaffe puts his sharp intelligence to use in the service of people, explaining his plan every step of the way and giving the bigger picture, without any hint of an air of routine and certainly none of the condescension common with lawyers. It felt really good to have him standing next to me in court--standing up with me for my best interests. He knew exactly how to handle the case. His good relationships with those at the court showed in how smoothly they worked with him. And he put himself into it every minute. The outcome of my case was far better than it might have been and I paid far fewer fees than I might have, which for me was both a salvation and a stand for justice. Like me, you’ll probably be very pleased with the outcome and may even find yourself having more hope about lawyers, courtrooms, and what is fair. You may never tell a lawyer’s joke again. And you may find you miss the emails and phone calls after everything has been settled.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2022.

Suspension issued in NJ, 2022

updated on 08/22/2025

Suspension means an attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

Mark’s comment:

“A reprimand was issued due to a misunderstanding involving parking tickets on a friend’s vehicle I had temporarily used; although I paid my friend for the fines, procedural issues arose because I was not the registered owner, and the court held me responsible despite my good-faith effort to resolve the matter.”

Reprimanded issued in NJ, 2020

updated on 08/22/2025

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Mark’s comment:

“The reprimand was based solely on not having a written contract in a pro bono case, as I did not believe a formal agreement was required when offering free legal assistance.”

Censure issued in NJ, 2017

updated on 08/22/2025

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the State did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case, the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Mark’s comment:

“While caring for my dying mother, I submitted a rushed expungement in a difficult case involving a mentally impaired client; although the outcome was successful, a complaint was later filed due to the filing’s quality, which led to a reprimand. I then provided a full refund to the client.”

Reprimanded issued in NJ, 2012

updated on 08/22/2025

This means the attorney did something wrong, but the Bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Mark’s comment:

“In a rare case, an interpreter—unknown to me at the time—provided false testimony, which contributed to my reprimand and mistrial; I’ve handled over 14,000 cases with integrity and success, and I remain committed to delivering strong, ethical representation.”
