I struggle with how to word this. Ben handled a very long difficult frustrating short sale for me successfully!. That said, I was told after I hired him that most short sale attorneys do not charge you upfront and not nearly as much as I paid. While I think he spent the time to earn what I paid, I wa...s told I'd get some or all back at closing most likely, and did not. I would rather higher a lawyer I did not pay in full upfront so do your research. Early on there were some errors made in filing my paperwork by his Paralegal who was then fired. Supposedly this did not effect the outcome, however, it caused miscommunication that caused distrust on my part. At times I even found him to be rude to me and the buyers agent, to the point I thought he'd push them away. Ben will get the job done, but if you want someone you really feel cares about you, that was not my feeling in general. I never even met him in person, nor did he introduce himself when I came in to sign the papers or go to settlement, which my realtor said is out of the ordinary.

Benjamin Dash represented us in a recent home purchase. He and his staff did a satisfactory job in what was a fairly straightforward purchase transaction. There were however a few aspects that I was not at all happy about. First, whenever something came up, his secretary would ask for me to call h...im at a given time. Pretty much every time I called, I was put on hold for 10+ minutes before Ben would get on the line. It was very annoying and not respectful of my time. Second, in our initial call Ben said his fee was $800 for 3 hours of work and 99% of the time 3 hours is sufficient to close the deal. Well one day prior to closing, Ben emails that he has already gone over the 3 hours. Obviously there is nothing I could do at that point. By the time the final bill came around, I ended up essentially paying double the original quoted price. I have bought and sold a few homes and this transaction was nothing out of the ordinary. Finally, I was a little bothered by how much he pushed using a title company that he recommends. I went with a title company I was comfortable with as permissible by NJ state law everything went smoothly. When I questioned the final bill, Ben stated that my title company did a poor job and extended the closing. I was present at closing and did not see any delay that was due to the title company. I would not be surprised if he gets a kickback from the title company that he recommends.

Worst lawyer in the area! He is not responsive nor trustworthy what so ever. He will say one thing, and not stick to his word. Every time you call the office the paralegals claim he is in a meeting or handling a business call. Even after continuously leaving my name and number he has not contacted ...me back. Don't waste your time with this lawyer!!!!

Mr. Dash is one of the worst lawyers we have ever dealt with, and we have bought and sold several homes. He was unfamiliar with our case. He gave us incorrect forms. He and his coworkers failed to communicate and do their job. We called repeatedly for updates. We wrote him an email stating this and h...e proceeded to belittle us and say that everything was our fault. We did everything he asked within 24 hours. He did not show up to closing. Due to his unprofessionalism, our closing was delayed. He further did not act in our best interest. If you want to play games and hire someone unprofessional then Dash is your guy. We have worked with many lawyers who act professionally and do not give your case to a secretary who does not know what she is doing.
