Biography
Academics: 1999 graduate of Rutgers University, 2002 graduate of Rutgers University School of Law
Professional Experience: After graduation, Steve worked as an Assistant Prosecutor in Cumberland County. During this time Mr. Petersen was assigned to trial team where he was responsible for vertical prosecution. Mr. Petersen also served as the SANE/SART coordinator. Steve left the prosecutor’s office in 2006 for private practice joining the firm of Helmer, Paul, Conley and Kasselman. Here Steve practiced Matrimonial Law, Criminal defense and Municipal Law. He them joined the Law Office of Bruce C. Compaine in Haddon Heights, NJ specializing in Criminal, Municipal, Personal Injury and Matrimonial Law. In 2012, he opened up his own law practice in Collingswood, NJ. He is currently the Municipal Prosecutor for the Township of Haddon.
Personal: Mr. Petersen's prior experience supports his interest in the political process, since he has served as a District Representative for Congressman Robert E. Andrews and a Legislative Aid for Senator John Adler, Assemblyman Louis Greenwald and Assemblywoman Mary Previte.
Mr. Petersen was raised in Haddon Heights, NJ and currently resides in Mullica Hill. He has two daughters and a son.
Admitted to Practice: Mr. Petersen is admitted to the New Jersey Bar. He is a member of the Camden County Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
